Does anyone know if a place in the DFW area has poutine?  The one place I knew of in Krum closed down sadly.

Hmmm..

Funny you should ask about that. I'd never heard the culinary term until my wife and I visited the Meddlesome Moth the other day.

Although, their rendition is probably not what your looking for, based on wiki's definition of the dish. Their's is tempura fried green beans, with lobster meat, ricotta cheese, and some sort of tomato caper ragu` (for lack of a better word).

Interesting dish. Not what we expected, but had to order it since neither of had ever seen/heard of the dish.

That's yankee food.
Try you a big plate of homemade biscuits and country gravy instead.

Where in Krum were you getting this?

It isn't yankee food; it is from Quebec.

Vercelli's in Krum had it(they were owned by some French Canadians), but they closed.

This my friend is poutine: french fries, poutine brown gravy, and cheese curds.

I know it doesn't look good, but it is sex in your mouth.

Actually, that does look WAY better than the dish we tried.

Now you're making me hungry.

Yeah and that is from a fast food type place called la belle province that I go to with my friends whenever I'm on Montreal.  It can be even better if you get it at an actual restaurant up there.

I'd think you could get at least an approximation of it from most any diner. Little family run places are probably most likely. I'm from Houston so I don't really know Dallas that well, but a quick google shows that Kenny’s Burger Joint evidently has something akin to it on their menu.

Hmmm...Culvers has all of the necessary ingredients.  I'm wondering if you could order it "off menu" there––if nothing else, you could order some fries, cheese curds, and a side of gravy and assemble it yourself at the table!  Just a thought...

You've undoubtedly found something agreeable, but if you ever find yourself in Addison, check out Houlihan's.

I may have to give this a try next time I'm there, their cheese curds are pretty ridiculous as-is.

I've decided that I'm going to try this in the coming month when I have some time off to recover from the debauchery.  I will post a report when I do.
