Is that a registered lower? What is that all over it and will it come off? ![]() Yes. I soaked it in Deep Creap but the lower looks good. The RediMag has cosmetic rust, the bolt has rust spots, and the barrel also has some rust. The barrel inside looks OK but I'm going to have run some patches. The ammo is steel casing and rough so I unloaded the mags and then loaded them back up. The vest took an afternoon of sun to dry. |

Hell, that's just character. Run a brush through it, squirt it full of lube and throw back in there. I buy/build shooters, not safe queens. It now has more character without having to be thrown down a driveway. This incident confirmed my position about having a loaded round in the chamber. I need to take apart the CMore to see how much water soaked up inside the battery compartment. The flashlight also appears to have no issues. |

What not to do... http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk168/Tboy70/DSC_0003.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk168/Tboy70/DSC_0001.jpg Had a jug of water in the container along with tools so the weight shifted and crushed the jug and I didn't realize until after over a month of sitting in the Texas heat. Blankets soaked up the water which the gun was wrapped in. Even the plate carrier was soaked. Thankfully no round was chambered and I'm not sure if it was chrome lined... Optic works and function tested when pulled out of the tub. Why is that thing in the trunk??? It's short enough to be in the passenger seat area next to you like mine.

One guy was watching some guys stealing some stuff from across a small lake, had his AR out. When he came back to the PD, he left it laying in the front seat. At least he locked the doors. |

I carry mine like that on duty. It rides in a bag though. |

BTW, do you have a ball gag you can loan me to hang from my rearview mirror? |

Negative. Give TRG a page and see if he has some extras he's not using.

Looks like minor surface rust to me. No biggie. Took some sandpaper to the bolt, the bore was clean, and my crappy steel cased rounds function tested. Wadded up aluminum foil will also work to remove light corrosion from steel. Works pretty good on the chrome fenders of old motorcycles. Once cleaned up, I think your SBR should work fine. mm |
