So I recently received a bogus parking ticket and I desire the name of the best lawyer practiced in parking/traffic jurisprudence. Thanks |

Yeah you post this in here but dont tell us what it is, Cmon thats not right.
But anyway, any lawyer that can handle other traffic, can handle a parking one, too I would think. You dont have to be the best, you just have to know what the statutes mean, and weather your client is really guilty of the violation, and be willing to tell him/her the truth. |

I got a ticket for parking in a handicap parking zone. However, I parked my motorcycle on an area that was next to the handicap zone but not in it. Typically they have striped lines indicating runways for wheel chair passage but this area was not only not marked as such, it was about 12 foot in width so my bike was not obstructing the path.
In fact the path way was h shaped where I parked on the short leg of the "h". It was the only place I could park to keep my bike in plain few of the store front and video cameras to mitigate theft. In short, I was mitigating theft and damages, parked on area that was clearly not marked as "handicapped" nor "handicapped walkway", no stripes and no signs, and was not obstructive to any pathways. Sure I could have parked in a normal spot but it increases my risk for theft. I was clearly out of the way. |

And I say this as a rider. |

It wasn't marked with the striped lines. How is that illegal? I was near the area for handicapped, but nothing indicated that where I was is a handicapped passage way. I was out of the way and on the side.
It's not fear, but pre-planned, purposeful mitigation of theft/damages. The last time I parked in a "motorcycle" parking area (which this lot had none) my helmet was stolen and I had to ride home without one. It has happened before, and will happen again. And this was on the North side of San Antonio. I also had a truck break in in the area. No one will do anything but file a report which solves nothing. |

And did you write that you were on the "H" of word "Handicapped" but you do not think you parked illegally? |

From your drawing, it looks to me like you were parked in a walkway. Actually, an area that was created specifically for handicapped people to get from their vehicles to cross over to the stores. If you weren't parked in a handicapped space, you were parked blocking the pathway probably required by ADA and therefore ticketed for parking in a handicap area. And if you weren't ticketed for that, you were ticketed for not parking in an actual PARKING SPACE. Another instance of a motorcyclist that doesn't think they have to follow the same rules as regular motorists - in this case thinking you are special and can park wherever you want.
Good luck fighting it in court. Lawyer, if you can find one that will take the case, will charge you a lot more than what the ticket cost and odds are you will still have to pay the ticket. |

It amazes me how many bikers think they are above the law - cutting lanes, riding on shoulder (because m/c was not designed to sit in traffic arguement), and parking anywhere they please. What makes OP such a special person? How long have you been riding? If you are afraid of having anything stolen, I suggest wearing a backpack, installing lockable saddle bags, or even carrying your things with you. I've managed to do all this and avoid illegal parking.
So, are you the same guy that sees no problem parking in handicap to make a quick run into the store? BTW, it is also annoying to see pickups taking 4 parking places. |

I want to see the drawing Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile It was a drawing of a parking place and the walkway at the endcap, for use with handicap parking. It was a well thoughtout MS paintjob, some of the better. OP wanted contact information for the BEST lawyer in SA to fight this parking ticket. When folks posted this was indeed a legitimate ticket, he edited his posts. I'd be willing to bet that he got the maximum ticket for parking in a handicap spot but since his motorcycle wasn't actually in the marked space, he felt it was bogus. |
