Hopefully, he can play at this level.

Looking at his stats I think he is up to the challenge. the one thing that worries me is that the Jap ball is a tad smaller than the MLB ball. But we will see. Im glad we spent that much money on a pitcher rather a short stop... I.e. Arod

I saw his stats.  Looks impressive for Japanese League, but still debatable in major league.
Why?  Because in MLB, he will face a line up with good to best hitters everyday.  Whereas, in Japanese league he would face couple good hitters in a line up here and there.
I hope he kicks ass in MLB though, and I'm glad the Rangers signed him.

Wonder if we will see Prince in the line up? I hope the baseball gods are good to us this year.

Don't forget, you're going to have the Astros to deal with this season.

Rangers way overpaid for him.  50 mil just to negotiate with the Ham Fighters and contract of 60 mil.  I watched him play when I was working in Japan, and yeah, he is legit and good, but he will give up the deep ball more than you want in the MLB.  I don't know of any pitcher worth 110 mil––maybe early Clemens, but I would want to lock him up forever.

That shirt cracks me up––you see shirts with the pot leaf all over Japan.  I saw a little 10 year old boy wearing a pink and black track suit with a HUGE pot leaf on the back. His dad had a matching jacket.  A lot of folks in Japan don't know what it is, and it actually looks a little like a Shiso leaf, which is common in Japanese cuisine, and a lot like a Japanese Maple leaf.  II'm sure Darvish's handlers will counsel him on that

Oh, and you guys still have another year before us Astros face you in the AL :).  We still have one more year to suffer in the NL Central. At least we won't have to face Pujols for another year.

Negative ghost rider, it's the Japanese leaf, oh the idiocy on the media level.  (Not you, just misinformed likely by the media, who quoted it being a pot leaf).  A lot of folks make that connection, but it's not a pot leaf.

After game 6 I just don't know what I can invest emotionally into the regular season this year.

Yes you can. I thought I would not be able to move past the loss but I have. Maybe it's because the Cowboys were so terrible this year.

I have complete faith in Ron Washington, Nolan Ryan and Jon Daniels. They seem to do everything right.

Cross your fingers and hope everyone stays healthy. I hope Yu can pitch in the heat. He is supposed to be a curve ball pitcher and is seems that most good pitchers in the AL are all fast ball pitchers.

I'm confident in Darvish since JD and his boys have been scouting him for the last 3 years according to Galloway. Supposedly they went to management telling them that this guy is the real deal and that they needed to do anything it took to get the deal done. I think Galloway even said they've had someone at every one of his starts the last couple of years including a few trips by JD himself.

I have no doubt that if they didn't see anything in him, especially Nolan Ryan, then we wouldn't have spend that much money on him. I have trust in Nolan.
