Anyone know the details?

He was a long-time Dallas NFA dealer.

I guess I can ask Phil. Maybe Jeff S knows.

 Damn.
Used to buy/transfer several firearms from him.  He was about late 40 or early 50 y/o?

 RIP, Steave.

The colon cancer he was battling came back after being gone for over a year.  His doctor told him he had limited treatment options and about 4 months to live.  He said "Fuck it, I'm done."  Last time he was over at my shop, he weighed about 140 lbs.  I didnt even reconize him at first.  It was a very sad time these past couple months for all his friends, just to know you are going to die and not do anything about it.

RIP Steave.

He handled a few transfers for me and I picked up my first can from him, he will be missed by many. I met him before the cancer had been detected and once after his initial treatment. I too did not recognize him at first. Very sad to see him go that way.

Steave died Monday evening at 6:30 pm at his home with his wife and his mother and father by his side.  It's been a long battle that Steave never gave up. He had been fighting Colon cancer. Steave died two weeks short of his 44th birthday.

Services are Monday August 15, 2011 @ 3:00 pm, Cox Chapel of Highland Park United Methodist Church.  The church is at the corner of Hillcrest and Mockingbird.  There will be a reception following the service at the church.

I'll be there on Monday afternoon; I had known Steave for the past twelve years, transferred countless Title I and II items through him, and shot, dined and drank with him.

I knew Steve also.  Hell of a guy.  Condolences to all those who knew him.

Steave sold me my first machine gun after I moved here 10 years ago. He patiently answered all of my new guy questions and really helped me with everything. I've done some other transfers since and he was always helpful. He will be missed.

He was a very nice guy.  I did a few transfers a decade ago when he had that monster dog (who always wanted to sit on my foot) and was working out of the back of DFW Gun.  I was sorry to read this.

I got to know him a little, he had a ton of knowledge about firearms and a good sense of humor.

RIP.

That sucks. I really liked Steave and I've known him for quite some time. It's been a while since I've seen him and didn't know anything about the cancer.

Hell of a nice guy.

Fuck cancer to the depths of hell ... UGH.

Sad to see someone taken early ... I can certainly see why someone would say "Fuck it", it's just a shame that it comes to that.

RIP fellow gun nut.

Nice find.  I sent the link to his family, thanks.  I know he did a few Tales of the Gun, and one on the Liberator.

I only knew about the Uzi segment, and I think he also did one on the BAR; I wasn't aware of the Liberator segment, but I'll see whether I can find that online too.
