A FRIEND,

Was issued a ticket (Carrollton) and has never paid it. There is now a warrant for their arrest. Can this person just pay the fine or is their additional fees?

A friend of mine had this happen once and they made the mistake of Walking into the Police Dept/ Court to pay thinking the payment was just late. Little did I  they know that a Warrant was waiting for them. The bailiff and judge thought it was hilarious that they walked into a court without knowing that a warrant was waiting for them. So they let them pay it off and walk out free and clear.  My buddy did ask for a copy of the warrant to have proof of being a wanted man.   I  They still have it framed.

There is probably a fee for the FTA in addition to the original fine for the violation.

Get a lawyer.

Yeah. That's what the individual did. $150 to the lawyer and 180 days deferred adjudication.

Thanks.

Just make sure it really gets done and the lawyer actually turns in all the paperwork.

How old is the ticket?

Everything is negotiable.  You can handle this yourself without a lawyer but if it makes you feel better no harm in that.

Depending on location - most will let you pay the fine as well as added warrant fees .... Gonna be expensive and stay on your driving record

Have your friend call the local municipal court and get a total and take care of business ....

And they get another ticket.

Different jurisdiction (Richardson), so the PD didn't run the individual in on the warrant.

Just can't help some people.
