In case anybody is interested. We get started around 6. Bring gloves, a hand gun, holester and around 100 rounds. I'd suggest dressing warmly.
More info: http://www.proactivedefense.net/ (hit mute - he really needs to kill that $%@#$% video) It's at Quail Creek behind the office, just go straight up and find Chris. Address: I-35W at FM1171 Argyle, TX 76226 Basically head west on FM 1171 until you can't head west, you'll cross i35w then be on dirt for about 100 yards or so. There will be a cement plant to your right. Keep going. The entrance to QC is past that on the right. |

$50 for 2 hours of instruction. Members get 1 hour free each month so $25 in my case. He's working on adjusting stuff around and there are some new membership types he is going to bring out to help make it more affordable for people that want to get out a lot (heavy users).
Tonight was shooting while moving backward. started off engaging one target. You get up close (5ft) to the target. When he says up you start moving backward while drawing and fire at the target. Then it progressed to engaging 2 targets while moving backward. Greet one with two shots to center mass then the other with two and repeat while moving backward. you also deal with things like reloading and jams. Keep moving, don't stop. WE did it two at a time to keep things safe. I also brought out my SCAR17 b/c I wanted to do a mag dump (as if I needed a reason). Amazing rifle. you can lock on to your target and have a seasure on the trigger and the rifle just stays locked on. It feels like less recoil than my M&P15. I was also nice and let everybody (there were 6 of us tonight) have a turn w/ 5 rounds in the mag. IT was really cool seeing the flash in the dark. It's like a 5 point star. just watch out for the flying case b/c it chucks them out like a MLB pitcher. There is a pistol match this sunday from 2 - 6. According to my email it should be $15. Contact Chris if you're interested. Doubt I'll be there b/c I want to go to Top Gun for the chance to shoot at something I probably can't hit. |
