I live in the Cypress area and want to get into reloading 308. I have zero reloading experience but want to learn the basics. After Christmas expenses are paid I'll probably purchase a basic setup to start.
I assume just like anything in life the best way to learn something is to be taught by someone who knows what they are doing. Any suggestions on either classes or mentoring opportunities? I'd gladly pay for the experience with someone's favorite beer.. |

I learned pretty much all online in the late 90's when there was no where near the amount of info online as they have now. I would suggest a couple of good reloading manuals, some reloading specific forums once you learn the lingo and youtube is also an option if you are more visual. I have not heard of any classes locally but your best bet on finding a decent mentor will be a competition shooter. I shoot NBRSA 100-200 yard benchrest shooting about i've learned more about precision reloading from that group than i ever was able to learn online |

Thanks, Nick check out 6mmbr.com and benchrest.com 6mmbr caters more to long range benchrest. Loads of good info though. benchrest.com is pretty much all 100/200 yard benchrest shooters. In the spring come out to the matches at Tomball Gun Club...we shoot 100 yard score shooting.....long story short we try to hit a 1/16 inch dot on a target at 100 yards 25 times in a row. btw: for $99 this kit combined with a good set of dies and components will give you the capability to produce accurate ammo for minimal cash outlay. |
