Don't leave your guns or anything else of value in your cars!!
( actually this applies to ANY time of the year, but simply a reminder ) That is all, be safe out there. |
| It never ceases to amaze me what people will leave in an unlocked vehicle. I work for a police department in the D/FW area, and in the past month we've taken reports on laptops, wallets, purses, credit cards and guns taken from unlocked vehicles. If you see a GPS in a pawn shop or on Craigslist chances are about 100% it's stolen. |

Folks think if they put their shit under the seat, nobody will look there. Duh. |
| This is a damn good reminder. In the little town I work for, I've taken (in the month of November) a couple of dozen reports of BMV's where dozens of cell phones, 4 or 5 laptops, a dozen or so GPS units and 4 guns(G19, Rossi .38, Taurus .38 and a Colt Mustang .380) have been stolen from unlocked vehicles. We've recovered all the guns, laptops and GPS units. |
| If you can't deal with losing it, don't leave it in your car. Any jackhole can break into a car (even if its locked) with zero problems. People treat their cars like it's a rolling safe when it's more like a rolling glass display box that says "break into me" on it. |

Same here also, we took one last week the guy had FOUR...FOUR......FOOOOUUUURRRRR pistols in his vehicle parked outside of his home that were stolen. It's amazing some of the things people seem to think is okay to leave in their vehicle, sometimes locked, usually totally unsecured. |

On the other hand a cheap $150.00 mosberg snotty cut to 18" is nice
To have in a fight. I would not want to loose any gun but its better than my AR15. I also don't want and can't pack it with me so it stays in the car. There are many times I can't take my CHL so it likewise stays in the car. |

I've been trying to get someone to steal my gas can full of piss and bleach, but so far, no takers. I gotta try this! It would be worth the $10 gas can in laugther. But they would probably file a lawsuit saying I booby trapped them and it tore up their car, and win.... |

This is a very good reminder this time of year. A few years ago my wife made the mistake of not taking the bags out of her vehicle when she got home and someone slim jim'd her car (thankfully they didn't break the window) and took all of the Christmas gifts she bought that day. It's a shame but it was a lose/win situation. She'll definitely think twice before assuming anything again! |
