Did I just hear on the news that Perry is for the U.S. invading Mexico to stop the drug cartels?
Jim |
| Wasn't there talk awhile back that a war/invasion into Mexico was one of a few plans the government had asked the military strategize? Be another one of those wars where the bad guys aren't wearing uniforms and there would be civilian casualties all over the news. |
|
i'd rather secure our borders first. blow up mexican border cities so they cant tunnel under as easily then land mine the rest of the border.
ETA i'd think that would cost the least american lives and money. if we invaded, we'd probably give mexico a shit ton of aid |

Do you have a link? I saw the report on Fox$ News here in DFW. I couldn't find a story on their website, and it may have been mentioned in another report. I did find this from a quick google search. Search results page Jim |

Without opening and reading a bunch of Links I can tell you it will never happen. Now that the Republic of Texas has married down and joined the Union we can no longer spin off and slap Mexico around anymore like in the good ol' days.
It would take a man in the White House who can stand up for the good of the U.S. without being talked out of it by the CIA and other covert trash that are making billions off the drug trade and I don't know if that man exists. eta- What would be a worse threat to Mexico and that would be for Perry to stop Mexico's invasion of Texas and send all the illegals home. |
|
No kidding, it will never happen, not with Obongo as commander in thief.
Now, if we get a President Perry in 2012? Maybe, but Gov. "Good Hair" Perry has been known to say things as nothing more than posturing. What I would be afraid of, is some move to "annex" Mexico into the US somehow. Ya know, gee we have to do it "to help the poor mexicans" and all that horse crap. Then yet another bankrupt, 3rd world, skidmark of a state would be on the dole of the taxpayer (see california for an example). A "few" years back, Texas was pissed off enough about the lack of Federal help protecting its border, that it included that reason, among others, in a document known as the "Ordinance of Secession", which other states that left the union produced as well. See it here. |

crush your enemies, see them driven before you, hear the lamentations of their women. I'm in!
In reality we don't need to invade we need to drive back the invasion! Enough M4's on the boarder would be a good start, but that ain't going to happen. If Perry wanted to he could do this but it would cost a fortune to put enough troops under State Active Duty down there. |
|
Its just talk. We would do it wrong, we would end up borrowing billions for more rebuilding programs and have ridiculous ROE. It would not be the simple intelligent and effective going in and killing off the problem and leaving. Politicians just want to talk about dealing with the border, not actually deal with it. I do not believe a single word of the talk and I wont until the bodies start piling up. |
| Ssshit...if you thought anti war protests in the past were bad. I'm watching Cops And Coyotes on Investigation Discovery Ch. right now about the Border Patrol raiding human smuggling safe houses in AZ. and at the beganning of the show a, "...actions depicted on this show do not reflect the opinions of the station...". They can't even do a show showing Border Patrol doing their job with being harrassed by the traitors. |

too many unaccounted for enemy on our side to be very good for us...it would be worse than the other places we are at right now. so....not a fan of all out invasion, but have those operators do some covert damage over there and i am all for it. Now that's a kickass idea...but to add a little additional instruction, make sure the politicians don't try to hover over & dictate the entire mission w/ all their PC bullshit! Give them their mission & wait for the feedback! |

How ''bout another "Punitive Expedition" into Mexico aimed at the cartels:
