I think about this type of weapon sometimes and occasionally someone asks why we don't build some simple version of it. I have an FFL/SOT, I work with and/or understand with thermal, logic controllers, vision systems and motion controls- most everything required to make that device. I own machining and fab equipment, welders and I have a sweet ass copy of AUTOCAD Inventor. Why not? Because that weapon IS so fucking awesome it almost guarantees either my untimely Darwin-approved demise or my probable long term incarceration in a Federal Correctional Facility after a CNN headline topping "accident".
How would that happen you ask? Because I couldn't handle the or provide the respect for that area weapon system. In my quest of awesomeness, I would go ahead and equip it with an autonomous mode, because sentry guns were ruthless in the movie Aliens. For a laugh, I would probably write some retarded code as a joke but then, somehow manage to accidentally actually load it and hit RUN with my elbow or something. The code would look like this, and I would have it, as luck would allow, out back of the shop when it happens. There is also one of those really nice, new High School stadiums behind the shop too. It would probably be game night. REM: RUN LITTLE FUCKERS 10 GUN ON 15 SERVO 0,1 ENABLE 20 THERMAL ON 35 SCAN ON 30 TRACK ON 40 IF WHITE HOT > 4% SCREEN THEN CENTER X,Y =GUN ACTIVE 500ms; PAUSE 500ms 50 GOTO 40 Epic fail. |
