How odd.....I was actually thinking of the old archived thread on this very subject.

| It depends on the type of springs. The springs on the side rails. Then it is an easy fix. Springs above the door. Let the pro do it. I would get both springs replaced while they are there. If you don't then in a year or two they will be back. Last time I had mine replace in Houston is was around $200 for both. |
I sent you a pm ..If anyone has any garage door probs shoot me a pm i can get you a good deal. |
| Yea, I had one go about two years ago and thought about it for a few minutes, then called the pros. Cost me $80, took them MAYBE 30 minutes and looked easy as hell.....But when I think about all of the energy stored in that coil of steel.....I know I made the right decision. |

Quoted: Quoted: I would do it yourself. It's an easy fix. Not if you dont know what your doing. +++1 And even if you do know what you're doing... if u make a mistake. Soemthing is going to shove itself deep into your skull, eye, or some other body part. Or that door is going to jam, or slam. I've doenit before and I'll never do it again. Let the pro do it...he does it a 1000 times and gets lots of safe practice. |
