Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is an American holiday honoring African American heritage and celebrated by people of all ethnic and racial backgrounds. It commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. State of Texas in 1865. Celebrated on June 19, the term is a portmanteau of June and nineteenth, and is recognized as a state holiday in 36 states of the United States. The holiday originated in Galveston, Texas; for more than a century, the state of Texas was the primary home of Juneteenth celebrations, and since 1980, Juneteenth has been an official state holiday in Texas. It is considered a "partial staffing holiday", meaning that state offices do not close, but some employees will be using a floating holiday to take the day off. |

Damn man, how long you been in this state? It's June 19. So you have one every month? We're going to skip a couple of months after this one. These things are a lot of work. Having one every month is pretty close to having another j-o-b, and we all know how fun that is. I couldn't break the tradition of having a juneteenth shoot. This is the 8th one in a row. The first one, there were 2 people, myself and one who was banned. We've had some good ones and some not so good. Like the one where we got 4" of rain that afternoon. |

At the last one, I saw one guy with a black rifle that was pink. You know what I mean? Anyone want to start a pool on how many weapons will blow up? I am saying none. I think most of us are smart enough to buy well built guns... not some POS former commie block wannabe sniper rifle. ![]()

So the first one was just 338winMag and He who cannot be named? Damn, that was a long time ago for you guys! So the proper title is "the 8th Annual Liberty Rod and Gun Club Juneteenth shoot"? I think so. I went to public school and then worked with power tools most of my life. I can't count higher than 7.
