Didn't they teach you anything in school?  You can probably solve the Brachistochrone problem, but don't know what day Juneteenth is.

So you have one every month?
6/3/2010 6:40:01 AM EDT

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is an American holiday honoring African American heritage and celebrated by people of all ethnic and racial backgrounds.  It commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. State of Texas in 1865. Celebrated on June 19, the term is a portmanteau of June and nineteenth, and is recognized as a state holiday in 36 states of the United States.

The holiday originated in Galveston, Texas; for more than a century, the state of Texas
was the primary home of Juneteenth celebrations, and since 1980,
Juneteenth has been an official state holiday in Texas. It is
considered a "partial staffing holiday", meaning that state offices do
not close, but some employees will be using a floating holiday to take
the day off.

So you have one every month?

We're going to skip a couple of months after this one.  These things are a lot of work.  Having one every month is pretty close to having another j-o-b, and we all know how fun that is.

I couldn't break the tradition of having a juneteenth shoot.  This is the 8th one in a row.  The first one, there were 2 people, myself and one who was banned.  We've had some good ones and some not so good.  Like the one where we got 4" of rain that afternoon.

So a bunch of black guns are going to be worked on Juneteenth
6/3/2010 10:52:36 AM EDT
[#22]
At the last one, I saw one guy with a black rifle that was pink.  You know what I mean?

Anyone want to start a pool on how many weapons will blow up?
6/3/2010 11:51:33 AM EDT
[#23]
Well do we include in the Pool Silencers with the end blown up.

I am saying none.  I think most of us are smart enough to buy well built guns... not some POS former commie block wannabe sniper rifle.

That's gonna leave a mark

My wife has a pinky. It does look ok though.

I would reccomend not using the .50BMG.

1.  It will punch through all the steel out there.
2.  Teh backstop, while adequate for lesser rounds, may not be so adequeate for a .50.

But that is 338winmag's call.
6/3/2010 3:07:41 PM EDT
[#29]
So the first one was just 338winMag and He who cannot be named?

Damn, that was a long time ago for you guys!

So the proper title is "the 8th Annual Liberty Rod and Gun Club Juneteenth shoot"?
6/3/2010 3:19:13 PM EDT
[#30]
I haven't shot any steel with it yet but I get 2' of penetration in my berm which is dirt and clay

I think so.  I went to public school and then worked with power tools most of my life.  I can't count higher than 7.

6/3/2010 4:15:56 PM EDT
[#32]
I'm down.

Where is this again?

Are you OK with high capacity bullet hoses like the AK, ar15, and SKS?

Is it OK if I load more than one round at a time?

Are FMJ armor piercing incindiery rounds OK?

6/3/2010 4:32:29 PM EDT

were is that "guy" Did he say fugg it and not want to talk to us no more? Seriouisly though is he not coming back on here?

You ever bring that thing past the 300 yard line?
6/4/2010 12:30:07 AM EDT
[#37]
been to 600 with it. Held about a 3 moa group that day at ASC in 20+mph wind I've only shot FMJ though her too, and as soon as I find a good price on some Hornady match ammo I can see what  she will really do
6/4/2010 1:18:29 AM EDT
[#38]
Will there be a 500yd target like last time?
6/4/2010 4:12:32 AM EDT
[#39]
there is always a 500 yd target.

Someone was talking about bringing steel flanges to hang.
6/4/2010 4:35:15 AM EDT
[#40]
I have a 4" ss flange blind I could hang out there.  I have it 300 yd from the house.  You drive past it when you go out there.
6/4/2010 6:00:31 AM EDT

I'll be missing this one. It's vacation time for flight!!!!

I have heard good things with the AR50 in terms of accuracy.  Have always wanted to see what one would do with match ammo.

I'm really going to try and make this one just to met some of you guys , and if I come i'll bring it for some trigger time for ya'll  if it's OK with 338winmag
6/4/2010 11:45:57 AM EDT
[#45]
I'd really love to have you come, but leave your fitty at home.  I don't really have a way to stop it, since I don't have a berm.  I use the woods behind the range, to stop bullets, along with the fact it's about a mile from anything else.
