| I'm 19. I want to carry a pistol with me in the truck instead of a rifle/shotgun. I will not take the pistol out of the truck. Pistols are my dad's. Can I or can I not do this? Thanks |

Thanks as long as you are not otherwise prohibited, not commiting a crime other than traffic class C misdemeanor, not in a criminal street gang, and the pistola is not in plain view. eta: txinvestiator made a nice write up @ the top of this forum that covers section 46.02 (which is the section you are concerned with @ the moment) |

Only thing to add would be the question of your age and the possession of the gun since a handgun can not be bought until you are 21.
That being said, keep the gun out of sight and down violate any traffic laws because if you are stopped you could be searched depending on prouble cause. |

A 19yo isn't restricted from owning a handgun, therefore is not restricted from carrying one under the MPA |

Just not from a licensed dealer. The law requires that it remain concealed in his vehicle. The rest of it; never mind. |
