seems that they've been dicking with trailer laws.

anything over 4500GVW is required to be DOT inspected now.  i've been adding markers, LEDs, breakaway brake systems and rewiring all week....

It was brought up in a recent thread. Somebody (Was it Mr. Larue???) got pulled over and issued a ticket.





If i recall correctly, trailers with a GVWR of >4500 lbs are required by law to be inspected.
The law has been on the books for a while but is just recently begun to be enforced.
Any trailer with a GVWR of 4500 lbs or more is required to have brakes. And of course, it won't pass inspection if it doesn't have brakes.
Again, this is all what I vaguely remember.

Interesting. Sounds like our trailer needs an inspection at some point.  16' tandem axle rated at 7k.

Hardly ever use it.  The inspection can wait.
