I have a "farm" in Henderson County. I go down there on a regular basis.

Any opinions as to which service is the best?

Thanks

I have dish network (at the suggestion of my friend that has direct TV).
Have not had any problems with them and I believe they are cheaper (a little) than direct TV.

I would go with whichever has the cheaper package of the channels you want.

I have used both. Currently using Directv.
Can't go wrong with either service. Just depends on which channel package or price point that meets your requirements.

Dad had Dish. I have DirectTV. We both liked both of them although my package is a little cheaper and I can't stand the Dish channel guide.
They are both offering package deals for new subscribers and have different HD prices. I would just check and go with the cheapest.

I have no problems with DIRECTV, which is actually ATT now.

DirectTV owns Dish network.

From what I see on AT&T's website..they offer digital TV through the phone line, like DSL.  Basically it is streaming video over a DSL line.

I haven't had a Tv service for years..I just download what TV shows I like or use one of the free sites out there like Fancast of Hulu.

Dish Network.  Direct TV sux balls.  I had Direct for a few years, and when my box began having problems they wanted me to purchase a new one.  I told them to pack sand.  Direct TV says if I ever have an equipment issue they will replace it free of charge.  Thats what I'm talking about.

Love direct TV. Dish is ok, but Direct TV menu are easier to navigate and their TIVO is really nice as well.

I vote Direct TV.  Plus find a friend and use his account number to get both of you a $100 credit to your bill.
If you don't know someone, PM me and you can use mine

Dish = no service.  If you have a problem, some foreigner will try to step you through a 30 minute checkout of the system.  If that don't work, you get to talk to another individual who starts you all over again....

I dunno,
The VERY few problems we have had with our Dish system over the years were fixed quickly over the phone.

I think both systems are about the same in reality.

Had DirecTV for some time and had very few problems - good CS as well when I have.

Had DISH for years with no problem.  One day it would not work.  After repeated time comsuming calls, each following their check sheet,  they would not send out a technician to fix the problem.  Cut them loose and called Direct who came right out.  Since, we have had six calls from DISH wanting to know what happened.  Our answer, no service, bye.  If Direct gives us problems, bye to them as well.  I don't need 500 channels anyway.  Go Saints!

We have Direct TV.  Love it. I had always been hesitant to go with satellite TV because of rain fade.  Well when my wife lost her job last July I couldn't afford Comcast anymore so I looked into satellite.  Direct TV had a special going (half price for a year).  I can tell you it has been great and we've lost signal twice for maybe a minute or two.  That was during an extremely heavy down pour.
