I've been aching to do some moving and shooting, but have yet to find a group since I moved from Washington. Does anybody in Houston have a training group that would be open to a new shooter? I've been through a few Tactical Response courses and have trained with a group in WA for the past several years. I'm no operator, but I do enjoy playing one on TV. IMs or thread replies are more than welcome.

IDPA is your best bet. Low cost and friendly people. http://www.whidpa.com is a bit of a travel but a good place every Wed. to go. Shiloh Indoor Shooting Range has matches near the Willow brook mall. 1960 and 249. Yeah, I've thought about heading out for a match or two. However, I'm looking more for group that does non-gaming shooting and moving. Before the barrage, I know that IDPA can be used for "training" purposes. But, I'm looking more for team tactics etc. |

(Alvin, one hour south of houston, total noob at this type of training) |

There's an IDPA group that meets up in Conroe every wednsday night. www.tts-idpa.com This, I was unaware of. That's much closer than the WHIDPA. I can do this one with my work schedule. Thanks for the heads up. Still looking for other training too, should anyone know of a group. |
