I got an email a while back about some classes that Tiger Valley will be hosting at Elm Fork this month,
I can't find the email.  Any one remember what they were?

Thanks

Roger that... thanks so much.

I'll be the old fat guy with the rusty, dusty AR.

See ya at Elm Fork.

Anyone have any idea what would be involved and the necessary level of competence and skill sets to take that class?

geegee, I'm assuming as long as you know how to engage the safety, load magazines, pull the ch and follow the four firearms safety rules you should be good to go?

High Threat Environment Carbine
On September 8th learn how to engage moving targets and overcome dynamic and high threat situations with your carbine.  Our motorized target system will be utilized for this class.

This is not an entry level class and the basics of carbine operation will not be covered, only more advanced topics.

The cost is $65 and pre-registration is not required.  The course is at Elm Fork and runs from 6:30 PM to 9 PM.  Bring your carbine with sling, safety gear, and 250 rounds of ammunition.  Conversion kits for .22 LR are allowed and we have a number of kits available as a free loaner if you call in advance.

Shooting from Cover - Pistol
On September 22nd develop effective skills in out of position shooting with a handgun.  Our multiple position barricades will be utilized for the class, as shown in the image on the right.  Targets will be covered in shirts to present more realistic shooting situations.

The cost is $65 and pre-registration is not required.  The course is at Elm Fork and runs from 6:30 PM to 9 PM.  Bring your pistol, holster, safety gear, and 250 rounds of ammunition.

Do you know how to operate your carbine?  Some stages are fast paced with safety stressed so if you don't feel comfortable moving on the go or are afraid of flying brass, I recommend you sit this one out.  If you prefer shooting from the bench, this isn't the place.  Assuming you can hit a target 15 yards away, you're good to go.

The $65 is well worth the investment.  If you think you will ever use a rifle in a stress situation, this class is a must.

Okay, from the description on TV's website, I was unclear as to what was required. And as usual, that $65.00 price is always a great deal for professional instruction.

We're not at all looking for participants to have high-end skills for this event.  If you're smooth, effective, and safe with your weapon you'll fit right in.

We want to spend time in this class working on the higher-end topics and simply not get slowed down by someone who keeps inserting their magazine in the wrong direction.  :)  Novice shooters are welcome at darn near all of our events, but this one we want to move along at a quicker pace.

If you have any questions, just shoot me a message.  Otherwise, I know that I'll be seeing a bunch of you out there tomorrow!
