Was at a local gun store today where a man was looking to sell 2 of his firearms. One, a 5.45 AK variant, perfect condition, cheap scope, OD furniture and 6 mags. Second was a 12ga, top folding stock, front and rear pistol grips, 2 round mag ext. and a surefire g2 mounted on the front.
I then over heard the man at the counter talking down the price saying they had just gotten a shipment of AK's in and their whole sale price was only $400, so he would give him $350 for it. (Their AK's that had just came in were on the shelf and ranged from $750-$850 mind you) and for the 12ga they offered $100. The poor man had just signed the papers when I walked up and asked him how much he was selling them for. When he told me I about cried. The poor man was under the assumption that he had to have a firearms license to sell them privatley... So I let him know that he did not need a license and directed him here to ARFCOM so that he could learn more and not make that kind of mistake again.

thank god... i personally prefer too offer them a larger sum of money and make the store owner look like an ass...
but nice work. I've snagged one or two weapons in pawn shop parking lots before they get sold for 45$ and a few dvds.

because If you're lowballing honest people then you deserve it!

I'm not surprised. Most placed low ball people. It's probably worse now that the economy is bad and people are selling stiff just to put food on the table. I think there is a special place in Hell for people that try to do that type of stuff to honest hardworking people. Their day will come.

"So where are these brand-new AKs you're selling for $450 each?"

Sounds like a store here in San Antonio.

My personal fav. at this store was the les baer 16" varmint rifle, flat top, no scope, no irons. Just a cool $3,500
Les Baer's web site lists this rifles retail at about $2,400, I would imagine dealer price being at least a couple hundred less. I would imagine about a $1,300 mark up.
