Texas is OK to visit , but you don't want to move here. It really a horrible place to live. yeah you guys are just afraid of the northerners coming down and changing shit. lucky for you... if i decide to move somewhere it isn't because i want to change it, it's because i like the way it is. anyway, i want to see what free people live like |

Austin is pretty and lots of interesting places to eat and vist..........if you can stand the liberal wackos trying to get away from the libs... does austin have diff gun laws than the rest of texas? No, just more liberal hippies. You want a real taste of Texas you need to hit up the small towns. |

There is also plenty of food and entertainment along the River Walk. Hell yes. And eat at La Margaritas. My favorite place in SA. |

Austin, with side trips out into the Hill Country. Ditto. While SA is fun with the alamo and the riverwalk, I would go to Austin, especially if you are looking for night life. There is a lot more to do in the city, IMO. Take a walk down South Congress during a nice warm afternoon. Get some good BBQ (Salt Lick, 25 min drive south of Austin getting to see some hill country and it's BYOB, or The County Line). The Salt Lick is my personal choice to take out of towners to. There are plenty of fantastic restaurants and eateries in Austin. Parkside - my favorite restaurant to open up in the last couple of years. Good food, on 6th street Portabla - Counter service place with good food and soups El Chile - in east Austin, but great Mexican food Eastside Cafe - down the street from El Chile and also has great food. All the veggies are homegrown/organic Foodhead's - great sandwhich shop just north of UT's campus (34? and Guadalupe) Texas Chili Parlor - order the black bean and Elgin Sausage chili. You won't regret (even though it has beans, it's still chili in my book :) ) Oasis - food really isn't spectacular, but the view of Lake Travis is amazing and the drinks are pretty good Flip Happy Crepes - haven't been, but my friends swear by it for breakfast If you pick Austin, let us know what part of the city you are staying in. That way we can localize some recommendations. Check out Chowhound for more dining recommendations. Drive around town, check out UT, visit the state capital, go shopping with the girlfriend (local austin stores, not the mall), visit Barton springs if you go and its warm outside. Listen to some live music. Have fun and let us know what you end up doing. |
| If you go to Austin great have fun but do try and drive out to Fredricksburg its awesome and lots to do, go hiking at Enchanted rock or just window shop. I grew up in Austin and miss it so much i even miss my libtard ass family. When the revolution begins they will turn to me for help and fast. |

Austin is the party town and fun to visit.
San Antonio has great historical value. Houston has Nasa, Galveston, the ship channel. Dallas has . . . . something, I just can't remember. Oh yeah, they have a great FTF gun market. It seems all the best gun deals are in Dallas. It really depends on what you want to do. Besides move here.

Austin - Very nice city!
I still remember the first time I visited Austin. I came back and ran into a LEO friend of mine. He is a total good ole' boy Wrangler, boots and rancher. I said "Man, Austin is an awesome city. Really beautiful." He stopped chewing for a second and with a totally serious face said in that dry Texan draw "Yep,.... lot of faggots there though" Don't know why I found it so funny but I did. Haven't been back But seriously, Austin is a great city!!! |

The Stockyards of Fort Worth is pretty cool. If you like the cowboy wild west theme this is the part of Texas to visit. It is Cowtown and the Gateway to the West. A Cabela's, Cheaper Than Dirt and Bass Pro Shops are in the area. Billy Bob's is fun too. Sports wise we have the Rangers, Cowboys and the Mavericks to name a few.
Austin is pretty interesting, Galveston was fun but I am not sure what it is like after the last hurricane. The Alamo and the River Walk in San Antonio is interesting. NASA/Space Center Houston - Johnson Space Center is really cool. Lots of Great Food, especially BBQ! Not a big fan of Tex-Mex, I was born and raised in California so I know what Mexican food is supposed to taste like. I don't like Dallas, Houston or El Paso for the most part. Texas Visitor Info
