| Tiger Valley will host an open shoot January 10-11. Shooting starts at 9:00am on Saturday and ends at 3:00pm on Sunday. We had toyed with the idea of memberships, but it looks like to much time will be consumed by contractor classes to make it fair to offer on a membership basis. Cost is $30.00 per day. Both long range and bays will be open for shooting. |

I talked with Maduce about this the other day. There will be other open shoots this year and chance are more of them than in the past. I think that he had an open weekend and was throwing this out for anyone who wants to come out if possible. I for one am definitely not knocking it... if I wasn't handcuffed to 2 businesses I'd be up there anytime they did anything. Always good times, great staff, and most of the time I leave fairly unharmed (BOD would be the possible exception!) |

It is just possible that I can get some pistol ammo loaded for the weekend and the SO will also be up for at least a day of putting rounds on steel. I'll just have to get on it to make it so! This mostly means I'll have to forgo my usual ARFCOM trolling and do something that is actually productive
This winter I'll be working on a 308 load. When I have that done I need to get back behind a rifle and log some serious trigger time. It has been a few years since I did any dedicated rifle shooting. |

Anyone going down for just the day on Saturday that would mind having someone tag along? I'll split the gas money with ya and drive to meet you wherever you want. If anyone is going and wouldn't mind a passenger then IM me. I promise to take a shower. Im sent. |

Quoted: TJ has always been very accommodating to us Arfcom guys. I've been missing having an Arfcom shoot with lots of folks there, camping, etc. If we could have a month or so notice, we'll try to make it worth his while. Quite a few of us have been lamenting the fact that the TX crew doesn't get together as often as they used to...I talked with Maduce about this the other day. I now have enough .45 to make it worthwhile, and I'm getting rolling on a batch of 9mm. I'll see if fuel and range fees can be squeezed out of the budget.
The 308 will have to wait for another open shoot. - work up a load to get the desired velocity - test it for accuracy - tweak the load for accuracy - load a bunch - go to open shoot and see how I can do at 1,000 yards. My plan is to use Nosler 165 grain Custom Competition bullets and Varget. Anyone have experience with this combo? (the Sierra Matchking bullet is very similar) Any preference between Win WLR primers and CCI-34 primers? |

You going to make it Fal? Not 100% sure yet.... as I am in Toronto right now.... but I am going to try and come down for one day and use the long distance range, if I can. Which day works better for you? I f we can work it out Small Change and myself will come down on Saturday. I should know tonight. |

Unsure what day. I have no commitments either Sat or Sun. My plan is to drive up early, then head back later the same day. Splitting fuel would help! |

Looks like there are some guys from The Snipers Hide going.
http://www.snipershide.net/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=925616&gonew=1#UNREAD Unfortunately we are not going to make it. Although I do have the ammo loaded in case this ever comes up... Come on Hbruns, I am concerned that a fellow BOD finisher is not keeping his supplies up and ready to go!!!! |

Another bump. Small Change and I want to show but we don't want to make the drive if we are going to be the only ones there. I'll give it another few hours to see if anyone responds.... I'll be there after I get off work @ 1:30- 2:00. Only about 15 miles from me!!! |

Not going to make it sorry, some other things came up.
TJ we all really appreciate you opening up TV for us. I'd love to get 50 guys out there for an open shoot and get together at some point this spring. Are there any dates that you know of right now that are open for you. That way we can give plenty of notice and get a bunch of guys out for the weekend. Have I mentioned lately that I miss ETH... |
|
Well mowtown_steve and I had the bays to ourselves today! We met jarhead13 out there too.
It was cold and windy but we got a LOT of rounds on paper and steel! There were about 10 guys on the Long range today. You guys need to get out to T.V. on these open weekends! Thanks to T.J. for letting have the run of the place! |

Yea, no excuse for that, except its mostly a $$ thing right now. I now have enough pistol ammo for this weekend. I'm ramping up for the LaRue 3-gun match in March and blew through the budget getting registered. Ah, just giving you a hard time. I am sure you had a couple of mags full just in case. Keeping the budget is a part of the be prepared part as well... |
| !!!!! did not see the thread in time to plan and today is aready commited. Thanks TJ for the Open Shoot. I have been wanting to get back out there bad. Tena and I have 3 Long Range 308 to shoot there and try to keep up with Ziggy and Fal and Jason. TJ do you still have plenty of targets for the tank trap? I can bring or make some with enough notice, that is fun to shoot, we make a spin-off of that at our East Texas Sub-Gun Shoot. |
