Okay so I finally broke down and bought an AR. Gander Mountain on 1960 and 290 got a shipment of like 40 in the last two days, and they've sold 12 already. I suspect they'll all be gone by the end of the weekend. I was going to build an AR but I don't want to wait 12-18 weeks on some parts to come in. I'm attaching a few quick pictures I took. Shame about all this is I have a new double star stripped lower sitting around, that I don't need.
Little about me. I currently live in Brenham, but I'm from Houston and frequent there often. I'm currently on med-hold in the Army. My HMMV took 2 RPG's in Afghanistan back in May, so I'm slowly recovering from a few surgeries. Look forward to meeting some of you guys in the future. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/elmer852/IMG_7631.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/elmer852/IMG_7634.jpg |

Nice AR.
Saw on the LaRue thread you were interested in 3-gun. There's a 3-gun match this weekend at Impact Zone outside of Monaville, which is about 10 miles south of Hempstead if you'd like to see how they work. You can bring your AR to try it out as my guest if you'd like. Also after the match is the club's annual lunch which they give out awards and prizes for the year. Good place to meet some of the local shooters and you can check out the best range in the area if you haven't already been. Normally Bob, the 3-gun match director, has a thread with all the info for the match up by now, but you can get the basics here. |
| J I'd love to come stop by and see how they work, but I am in no shape to be firing a weapon at this point. Tuesday I had surgery removing a piece of shrapnel from deep in my right thigh. I'd still like to stop in and watch a little action and atleast meet a few of yal. |
| Sounds good. Match should last from around 9-11:30, it will be a little shorter than normal so there is time for the lunch afterward. The lunch will be at Repka's which is not far from the range. Directions can be found on the first link I sent or at www.theimpactzonerange.com/ |

Thanks for your service and welcome to the forum.
For what it's worth, I don't own p-mags. I've got a metric shit ton of the USGI aluminum mags. I've never really had issues with them. I'd say at this point in the game get what you can. Items are not in stock very long anymore. |
