Academy has their green box monarch on sale for $8 a box. I just bought everything at the H6 and Westheimer store.
Try to visit in person, I called to verify availability and some kid who didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about told me they didn't have any. I visited and they had 2500 rounds sitting out. |

I know it's been a long time since I've purchased ammunition, but I never thought I'd hear about $8 being the sale price for Monarch. Is that actually a good price now?

Now... after all the War On Terror, brass, lead, and copper commodity price increases, fuel cost increases for transport (at least of 4 months ago)..... brass cased, boxer primed, 115gr copper jacketed lead core FMJ 9mm ammo is $7.99 a box. Folks - that *might* be one of the best prices we will see for some time. I bought 10 boxes of the green Monarch at Academy last week for the 7.99 price. Went to another store on Saturday and they were sold out but..........according to the sales asst if you bring in the advertisement, they will honor that price but you have to surrender your ad. I'll try it tomorrow when they stock up again. Also, if you have a Sports Authroty around they have all winchester ammo at 20% off, the sign at the gun counter says 15 but it rings up 20% at checkout. I was able to get 500 rds of 45 for 185 plus tax plus 100 rds of 9mm for $20. |

I shot some recently, and it felt like a very light load - less recoil than CCI blazer. I thought coming from Serbia it would be on the hot side - but this didnt feel like it. |
