OK, I know this probably goes in another forum, but I wasnt sure which one. I want to get a 24" bull barrel for one of my new AR builds. I currently have a 16" M&P15 with the 1:9 twist and I use 55gr ammo which is suppose to be just right. Should I get the 24" bull barrel with a 1:9 twist to use the same ammo or get the 1:8 twist and use 62gr in that one? I apologize early if its a stupid question.

You can use up to 69 gr for your 1:9 AR,  75 gr is iffy depending on barrel.
If using 62 gr, then 1:9 or 1:8 should be fine either way.

If your building a 24" tack driver/sniper type setup then I'd go with the 1:8 or even 1:7 to use the heavier and more accurate bullets.

That's what I thought. I just didnt want to have to buy 2 kinds of ammo, but if using the 24" bull with 1:8 and 62gr will be more accurate than a 1:9 with 55gr, then thats what I will do...

Thanks guys...

My thought exactly.  You could even go  with a 1:6.5 and single load 90s.
