| Like the title says ill be driving into texas sunday or monday heading to Ft. Sam Houston to drop off my nurse girlfriend there. Any recommendations, ill probably have around half a day in that area? |

Your pretty much in San Antonio. Go to the Alamo (if time allows, if not at least drive by), eat on the River Walk, and enjoy. The River alone should give you something to do. And if your with your SO, you'll have a good time. I suggest Casa Del Rio, or The Republic of Texas. Both serve good meals, as do most places on the river. |

riverwalk-Alamo can be done in a day. it looks like the Alamo was moved to it's present location because I am sad to day it looks like it is part of the tourist trap that engulfs it. Personally I think they should bulldoze the whole area and rebuild the structures back to what they were at the time of the battle. But no, they have to have a wax museum, palm reading and other stupid crap on sacred ground. I would find the river walk and park close. Then spend the afternoon strolling the area follow your nose and stop in a cantina or two and have a margarita or cerveza. See the Alamo but don’t forget to remove your hat. Most of all hang out and relax. |
