Ice has become very hard to find, just about every store is out. With no word of resupply. So i figured i would post a tip or two on ice.

If you have a ice maker empty the bin into some large freezer bags, keep bags in the freezer. But it will let your ice maker keep producing ice.

Find a restaurant in the area, they have their own ice makers. Go with a cooler and ask if you can buy some. For a few bucks most people will fill it up for you.

The Sonic near me sells bags of ice.  I see lots of people getting it.

the power won't go out for about 12 hours.
use that time to freeze ice.  any water bottles, milk jugs, ziploc freezer bags can be used to hold water until if freezes.  i would pack my freezer full of water.  some will freeze.  most will stay very cold for a few days.

Most sonics are out already.  There is a place on Louetta that is a portable ice station.  It is near the corner of Stuebner Airline.

Put those cases of water bottles in the freezer.
They turn into big ice cubes.
You can still drink it when it thaws, but until then, they will keep the ice chest cold.

it will not do ya'll any good now but Sportmans Guide sells a portable ice maker that will make 35 lbs a day and my small generator will run it (1K) along with a fan and a light I take it on shoots and it has been great for the last year.It will not do the whole block but it will work for a single family or a weekend in the boonies...I think it was $170 billed out in 4 payments..again, late advice but maybe this will help you later Stay safe and good luck...Pike

Not sure if they are all the same but the sonic at I-35 and Basswood in Fort Worth told me that they don't sell ice on the weekend.

If you can get ahold of some dry ice, it will work just as well.
