My wife and I bought a new car, and the title and registration were issued in her name only. We want to have both our names on the registration. Is there a way to do this other than getting the title re-issued, then the registration re-issued? I looked through the state DOT's website and there's nothing I can find that shows otherwise. Thanks in advance! |
Try calling you local County Tax Accessors office. They adminster the registrations. |
unfortunately no... I went through the same type of situation a while back. It wasnt worth re-paying all the tax fees all over again. Now, if they were suppose to put both and it was their mistake, then they should fix it for free. |
That's what I told them, and they won't. I guess it will have to wait until we get the vehicle paid off and have the title. Thanks everyone for the help. |

To help establish a good credit rating, my wife's truck was financed in her name. As soon as it was paid off the lender sent the lien release. With the lien release in hand, we went to the local county tax/title office and applied for a new vehicle title showing no liens and both of our names. Cost was $15.00. |
