I just moved to H-town, and was wondering where the best places to shop were?

I'm in Spring, if that makes any difference.

Thanks, guys!

If you like to shoot handguns indoors.  Go to shooters Station off of 105 in Conroe.  They are a good place to shoot in the summer.

Tomball Pawn .

Spectre is a neat little place, but its darn near impossible to not go with Tomball.

Mike Emory has had Tomball Pawn in the same location forever and has built an outstanding reputation. At least check it out. Dont judge it by being a "pawn shop". They have an outstanding selection, and generally strong service.

Excellent!  Thanks guys.  I'll be sure and swing by there tomorrow when I'm out.  I'll probably get down to Spectre as well.

SOOO... Where do you guys go to shoot your long guns?  I've got a Remington 700 LTR that is just DYING to stretch its legs.  :)

Do us all a favor and tell him why...

Commenting like that without explaining yourself sucks.

ASC is OK at the 200, 300 yard benches.  I can do without all the "home boys and wanna be G's" at the pistol bays.

I usually go to Shiloh Indoor Range for pistol, or Impact Zone if I have all day to shoot

Like he said go early or go far. I shoot 300 and 600 and its pretty quiet out there. Never ever had a problem and have never even seen a rangemaster come out there.

I went by there today and picked up a lower ($110, CMMG; $120 DPMS, $170 Bushmaster).  They were quite busy, but too care of business efficiently.  They have a good selection of Kimber 1911s, Springfields, XD/Glock etc. pistols, a few AR-15s (including .308 models.)  A very good selection, considering how small the shop actually is.

please save the ban width.  (for the children).

As HK940 said, No need to go to ASC except at the 200yd plus ranges due to range nazis who are unreasonable and gang bangers.

The Impact Zone is the best place to shoot.

Not so crazy about Tomball Pawn. Bought a pistol there.  Midway thru the transaction, the salesman offered me a used version for more than the new one (WTF).  A couple of months later, I inquired about special ordering a rifle, when I asked how much it would cost a different salesman told me that after I ordered it then they could tell me the price.

I am a little odd myself at times but two twilight zone episodes in two visits is too much.  I deal with Sid at Spectre Firearms or Steve over at Shiloh Range - both can quote you aprice prior to ordering.
