Without reading all the replies...I think it's Purvise Creek.

ETA. DSLRs are the bomb...I need to get a macro lense for mine...but they are so damn expensive.

There's this new device..... called a mirror?

You can even set the timer and get out of the shot, if you're shy!

BTW folks, it is in Dallas.

Its in a pond that is fed by the upper portion of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River.  Its actual location is on California Crossing between Riverside and Luna.  Just south of the National Guard facility(I think Mak Mami will knows it).  The reason I took the pic was I was actually waiting for a train to cross the trestle over said lake/pond and I realized that the pond/lake is beautiful.  To me, it doesnt look like something you'd find in a city with the population Dallas has.  It looks more like the lakes you'd find in East Texas.

Surprisingly it is very clean and the water, even in the hottest days is quite cool, and the fishing is damned good.  I've caught numerous Texas and Florida Strain Largemouth Bass, with a few over 4 lbs.

For our mountain bikers, there are some very nice trails out there maintained by a group called DORBA(Dallas Off Road Bikers Association).  While some of them have been a bit on the prick'ish side, others have been quite friendly.  Dallas Parks and Recreation tends to the grass and what not.  The area is called the LB Houston Park and Trails, I call the lake Lake LB Houston.

BTW, here is the shot I was really there for:

LOL, that is what I was thinking when I first saw this thread. If I had to take a guess it would have been Dallas...simply because I have never been to the other places

Anyhow, here is one people should know

Yes sir, Just posting something most Texans has seen or heard about.

I could have posted something like this that was taken here in Texas...it's hard to make out due to a crapy camera, but there is a Bald Eagle purched in that tree.

The idea was, and the pole proved it, that there are areas in this great state, that even in a large metropolis like Dallas, can still hold the beauty of places like Purvis Creek, Toledo Bend, or Caddo Lake.

Oh, and the fishing was good today too!  4 bass, albeit all under 3 pounds in an hour.

Anybody with a small Jonboat or pond skipper type?

Easy.....that's from near my old stomping grounds.

That bald eagle picture was taken on the eastbound side of the road on Hwy 29 in between Buchannan Dam and Llano.
