| More than what I expected. Very patient and knowledable instructors. Not the least bit arrogant, just real down to Earth guys. I was better with my carbine after a few hours. The best AR money you could spend. And if you did'nt go today because of the weather you missed a great mudd day and test of your tool. |
Great to have you there!! You did fantastic and we enjoyed the mud, sweat, 300 yard "pings" of steel, movement drills, cover, as well as contact assault drills. Let us know what the highlight of the day for you was. Group pics and action shot coming soon!!

Wow! First class instruction. 8 hour day FLEW by with all the action. What a day to train. Kicked off with rain and we were in the mud right off the bat. Not a place for benchrest queens! More realistic and really tested our gear and helped us understand the capability of the weapon when used for its intended purpose alone or as a part of a team. Good procession of instruction, trigger time, and drills. While David, Matt, and Mike were very patient and tolerant, there was just the right balance of barking to get us going and keep us on track. I do have to say that my favorite part was the conclusion to the days training when we ran through the CQB course, shooting, moving, and taking cover all while practicing the various shooting positions and techniques. Hats off to the rest of the 17 participants who shot safe all day. When is the next class? SIGN ME UP! I NEED MORE AMMO. |
| wow!!!!!!! what a day of trainning. alot of great information. the mast instructors pick up on everyones skill level and trained us accordingly. safty was always a priority but did not interfere with outstanding trainning. i learned more about what my gear can do and how to use it before lunch than all of the reading, watching videos and trying to train my self with friends for the past few years. those who mist out because they did not want to get their gear a little dirty too bad for ya'll(it washed right off). the trainning i like was the contact drillhe. what a way to spend a day. and to think all this time i've wasted great trainning days doing inside chores because of the weather. thanks to all at mast for the special trainning they offered to the ar15.com group. see ya'll at the next class. thanks again. |
mainline007, Thanks for your feedback. It is our pleasure to host a class. Another great day with the MAST folks. Not my first rodeo with MAST but anytime you can get great instuctors, good students and a wet muddy field together for some trigger time, COUNT ME IN !!!! I personnaly heard nothing but positive comments from all the students. I was proud of all the AR15.com'ers..... No one complained about the field conditions, just got busy. HOOYAH !!!!! Everyone left quite a few rounds lighter, wet, muddy, tired, and a great big smile on their faces !!!! Thank you to the MAST folks for putting on this special class for AR15.com. Folks if you liked what you got in this one day class, stay tuned and sign up for the 2 day classes as they come up. 2 day classes will go into what was touched in this class in more detail and more repetition on the drills for practice. Looking forward to many more...... Bring on Level 2 Carbine !!!!!! |
Here's another pic of that dirty rifle,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,IN ACTION Pics coming soon |
| "Highlight" of the day was walking away being so much more capable with my tool.I can only imagine how much better it gets with more training.I also left with alot of faith in my tool. "I've shot 400 rounds thru my AR with no malfuntions", Well I just shot 700 in the mudd. I literally went from miss at 200 yds. to center target in one sitting with David. I obviously need more, but what a differance one day makes. P.S. I can't beleive the class was not full, you guys that say you can't afford, you can't afford not to. |
This was a very condensed level I. Normally, it is a 2 day class and MUCH MORE emphasis is put on all categories. The 2 day is definately the next step where accuracy and consistency are a must if you dont want to do pushups. \Level II OMG |
That sounds awesome Plastix!! Now i'm really anxious to take the but between work and ammunition prices it's difficult. But i'm saving all in due time i guess...So the handgun courses are good as well huh? I've been wanting to take some Level I defensive handgun so i can apply to IDPA as practice and real life. Cool beans!

I had a great time at the class on Saturday. David, Matthew and Mike are all great instructors. They have the ability to teach all different skill and experience levels. They provide alot of individual attention and were always striving to push each of us to expand our abilities. Plus, they made the class exciting and fun. The day flew by. I am 47 years old and bought my first AR-15 in 1981 but I had never taken a training class before. All my experience was slow fire standing/sitting at the range. This class really opened my eyes to how the AR can be used. The CQB and formation training was a blast! I highly recommend AR-15 owners to take classes from MAST. I am planning on taking Carbine I and Pistol I. Thank you David, Matthew and Mike for the training class. It was a great experience. Thank you Mike for organizing the class. It was very appreciated! Personally, I like the pistol classes better. It's much more rewardign to be able to hit targets with a 5" barrel in one hand vs. a 16" with 2. Don't get me wrong, the carbine classes are "THE GAS". but pistol classes really will sharpen your skills, plus witht he price of ammo, 9mm is much cheaper than .223 so it makes it a bit more tolerable. If you want, IM mw with your email address and I will add you to the mailing list for upcoming MAST events. Mike |

This was my second MAST class and won't be my last. Great learning experience and a great time. I think the rain and standing water made it even more of a real world training experience. I wish I had taken a few pictures of my RRA all muddy, it never looked better. |

That was indeed a great class! I like the one day option - it lets you get a feel for the personalities of the instructors and an idea about what instruction with that "school" is really like. I've had other training that I spent good money on and while I always learn something, I feel like I've stepped into a timeshare presentation with the training being the freebie for showing up and listening to their marketing hype. I also felt like it wasn't money well spent. THAT IS NOT THE CASE WITH MAST! At this class, it was about results and not about boogie men, zombies, EOTWAWKI, etc. I really like David's teaching style. You sir, provide just the right amount of "motivation" and stress while not coming off as an arrogant hardass. Nor do you coddle anyone. Not many people can pull that off. Everyone with MAST was knowledgeable, courteous, and ready-to-go! Keep up the good work! Mast is definitely the one to watch (and emulate) in Houston. Again, great job guys! Randall |
Awesome Bro! You should run for congress!!

The pistol class was great just like the carbine class. Matthew, David and Mike are great instructors. With safety being the primary mission we started with a good foundation of basics and worked our way up. By the end of the day we were learning vehicle exits in teams of two engaging six targets. Lots of one on one instruction and alot of trigger time really made for a great learning experience. I am looking forward to more training with MAST and would recommend others take their courses. |
Randall...where were you??? LOL! If you were there; you know how we train and why...if not, we will see you next time. The purpose of MAST offering a discounted rate to the ARFCOM community is just that...community. We take pride in the safe, reliable, repeatable training methodology, and would like to imbue you with the knowledge that has been proven many times over (from better men than us!).
