...anyone care to point me to a good seafood restaurant? Not interested in an overpriced tourist trap, but somewhere informed locals go for real seafood. thnx |
| Try the Water Street Oyster Bar downtown or Snoopies out on the island just across the high bridge to the south side. I don't know anything about Landrys. Snoopies does not accept credit cards or checks---only cash and there is no AC and the place is right on the water and you can eat outside or inside. I think all of this info is still good. |
| +1 for snoopies or the place right next door to it. If you don't mind paying a little more Water Street Seafood is an excellent place. If you want just good boiled shrimp or crawfish try Crawdaddy'd downtown. there are also a few good places in port aransas,(15-20 mins. away) just drive around and you could easily find them Port Aransas is not that big. |
+2 for snoopies, I was down there week before last and went there twice. I was told that they go out and catch their food fresh possibly daily. Anyone know if thats true? |

I odnt live down there, but vacation there alot.. PEIR 99! Right down by the Lexington. I love that place! Also +1 for Landry's. The are really not that back. Walked out with a $65 bill after meals for 2 and a few coldbeers. Service is wonderful, left the waitress a $35 tip b/c she actually did her job!! |
PIRATE FOOD and no one has said anything until now!!!!! WTF people, over? Just called and they are still open, 11-10 weekdays and till 11 on weekends. |
