N00b to AR15.com in the Austin area. Any regular gatherings or events of interest in the local area?

Long time gun nut (at least the vast majority of my 32 years) but just built my first ar15. 6.8 CAR upper from M1s with a RRA lower I bought from Heritage. The info on the BBS and from that shop have been very helpful.

Check out Texastactical.net they do a carbine match first saturday of every month north of san antonio. shot my first last weekend. great guys, shit load of fun. out.

Hope to run into you sometime. They do list a few things up at Glen Rose or waco that are close for the central Texas folks.

There is a dinner gathering of AR15.com folks in the Austin area the evening of the Saturday of the monthly Saxet gun show. Watch/search for postings on this forum to find out the location and schedule.

Thanks for the info on the dinner. I'll be out of town this month on Saturday, but hope to make it back for the show on Sunday.

I also was told the Austin Rifle Club has weekend competitions. That sounds interesting enough to check out sometime.
