Guys - if you want to continue the discussion in a civil manner - fine. 1. DO NOT start a poll asking for votes on "who is full of sh*t". That aint going anywhere. 2. DO NOT go back and quote anything inflamattory from a locked thread. Beyond that, have at it. |
Cry baby. TRG |

i like the chainsaw. Red goat email me a your address and i will send back what photos i do have of my bullet proof pig. you can please post if you like. [email protected] |
You know we can't have a discussion unless the claims are posted where we can see them. What did you do to the other thread? It won't open. TRG |
|
This is teh suxxitator!!!1 I likedidid the first thread teh bestest. It was funny. Locking means no one will ever get to see the joy that was brought forth in it. The chilli discussions, they ghey speak that spoken. Go-Go's, beans, homosexual advances, and chilli, oh and pig hunting....it was a great thread!
|
You need a hunting license for gathering/hunting any animal. Game or non-game. He mightmean a permit for keeping a venomoussnake at the house? Dunno though. Invisible should be along shortly to answer that question. TRG |
Uh...that one is stil alive and well, just locked. Freeflow's thread is damaged or something. TRG |
It's the man holding me down. |
|
I never knew pig hunting had to have rules. 1. Bait pig 2. Shoot pig 3. Clean pig 4. Make tamales. How much more complex does it have to be? BTW: If your .45 Colt loads will only penetrate 3/4" of an inch into a pine post I suggest you up the powder charge before you squib the gun and blow your hand off. |
Those fuckng crackers! wait... hey! <holds freeflow down> |
|
if you plan on catching most reptiles and amphibians you will need a HUNTING license AND a NON-GAME COLECTORS PERMIT. if you plan on having 25 or more of a species or plan on selling them you need a commercial non-game permit. for more info look at the TPWD web site. Invisiblesoul eta: the killing of Nescience, Dangerous, or damaging animals is normaly not a problem with TPWD unless you try to profit from it.( selling it or its parts) squirrels in the attic.... agressive animals.... but if you want to catch it and keep it or transport it you need a hunting and non-game license. Rambo hog story ? Invisiblesoul |

I can get you a Cal. .50 if you really want one. Do you want semi-auto (AR50) or bolt action (McBros repeater or Iver Johnson AMAC)? Do you have ammo? |

actually some fine fellow (i use the terms loosely here) mentioned the claymore usage on another thread. i thought about that also except for the legalities. then i started thinking...and you seem to share that thought...how about a tannerite claymore with steel ball bearings? pack the tannerite around a dixie cup full of slingshot ball bearings in a small plastic box for a shaped charge/directional blast and aim the bearings towards where the hogs will be eating. of course you don't aim it at your feeder. maybe even hang it off a leg of your feeder with the bearings pointed down? i can tell you that the hog isn't going to be interested in hanging around to find out what tannerite does to it when you shoot it. |
|
or a dixie cup full of steel ball bearings, wrap it with masking tape to keep the bearings in, place it in a 4' length of steel pipe with the pipe aimed at the hogs, place tannerite in the pipe behind the dixie cup of ball bearings, get back about 100 yards, easy shot with a .223 (even redgoat could hit it), when the hogs come to feed, shoot the tannerite and the steel ball bearings get blown down the pipe like a large shot gun. |
That may be a form of a destructive device,
|
Correct, and Texas Game laws prevent using a device designed to cause injury. TRG |

i guess we will have to use a smooth bore cannon then with grape shot. now that would be messy. ok TRG (tigger?) i shot at a pine 2x4 pink in color, newly purchased from Home Depot and my cowboy load will penetrate 1 layer of 2x4. My cowboy load will not pentrate 2 of the 2x4 placed back to back. My bullet will penetrate about 1/2" into the second 2x4. my .357 with 158 grain blazer ammo will blow throw both layers of 2x4 like nothing is there. My 50 Beowulf will also blow through both layers of 2x4 like they were not there. I stand by my earlier statement that some of my cowboy loads did not penetrate into the hog but in fact glanced/ricocheted/slid off of the hog. if you wanted to climb into a cage and shoot a similar hog with my cowboy loads i would be more than happy to let you. sort of a test of faith on your part. |
![]() Buddy, I got nothing to prove here. You continue to tell your tales, I'll sit back with the other hog-hunters and point and laugh. TRG |
I love the wood comparison to a hog's shield. If that shield was a tough as wood, you would need a chainsaw to clean pigs. The fact is a knife will slip through that "shield" like a hot knife through butter. Go take your cleaning knife and cut through that same 2X4 you just shot, and then tell me you believe it was as tough to clean that pig. Sorry dude, it just doesn't make sense to people who know. |
|
ok creepnd what would be a fair comparison for me to try my cowboy loads on? you seem like a knowledgable person, right up there with goat. (kidding there as i hold goat in higher esteem). i am willling to try my bullets on what ever you suggest as a comparison. you boys on the net remind me of the fella that told me how the "300 XTP hollow points would stretch the frame on my ruger black hawk." and "you don't know how many pistols like that, at least 30, i have seen come into my shop with the frames stretched because they shot those heavy loads/bullets." i guess i should look at the source of the doubt and the nay sayers. i weigh about 235#. no scale at that time. guessed the hog between 220-240. hard to say with the baggy sweats on. when she took off her clothes the lights were already off and i was too drunk to care. i did scream no one time though officer. that was right after she pulled me out from under the bed by my foot. if the pine board was tougher than the hog's shield as you suggest i should have been able to save money on a knife and use a 2x4 to clean the hog. my tree saw does not cut a hogs foot off worth a damn but it cuts the 2x4 easily. seems to me if the hog was easier to cut than the 2x4 the saw should cut the hog's feet off easier too if i believed your statement. to us that know. |
Creepnd....I love that. A proper comparison, is another hog. Not a 2X4.
Yep, I just got back from hunting this weekend. I have no clue what I'm talking about when it comes to pigs and killing them.
Do you sell crack to help subsidize the cost of what you smoke? ![]()
A tree saw is commonly used to cut the legs off of a hog. I prefer limb loppers, but a limb saw cuts those bones as easily as it does a tree. It seems you don't really have a clue about that either. BTW a bone is a hell of a lot tougher than that shield........A hell of a lot. |
On the 247 pound boar that 1NUTGUMMER killed back in '03 I used my skinning knife to cut him out a 'sample' of the shield to take home to Washington. It was 1" thick. No problem cutting out a hunk. Slice..dice..done. FWIW, the hog was hit twice. Once in the nose, by me, with a 5.56. It stunned the hog, and the hog turned away, disoriented. 1NUTGUMMER then killed it with a single shot .... wait for it ..... through the base of the left eye, with an exit out of the right eye base with a 9 mm AR15. mzdaffyd...? Why have you never explained how most of your shots were in the ear/base of the neck, and yet the rounds failed to kill the hog, and they bounced off? You claiming now that the hog's ear was thicker and denser than a 2x4? A 22LR will easily pierce a hog's skull when shot through the ear. TRG |
