That's where me and my son go. That was where we test fired the first AK we built. Just finishing up our 2nd so we'll be back out there to test it. We shot his Nagant revolver out there weekend before last. Used to go to Carter Country by the airport before we found Hotwells. Nice and close. |

I'm up 290 in Cypress Anyone ever going to Hotwells at the last min IM me I am always up for a trip to da range!! BTW I met some noob shooters today at Carters and shelled out like $10 a gun (I took 6 ) After today I will never say another bad word about Hotwells ever again (not that I said much before except the handgun area sux).

That would be my excuse too. I need to make some time, sometime. Welcome Saltydog!

I live in the Tomball city limits. Maybe we should get a Tomball area dinner night going? The Tuesday night meets are good, but like tonight, Gulfgate? Thats 45 minute to an hour away! No can do! Would any of you guys consider a dinner meeting for the Tomball/NW ARFCOM guys/gals/whatever to meet? |
|
I'm east of Louetta and Kuykendahl. So, tell me more about this Hotwells place. I usually go up to Conroe for practice and tests and Bayou Rifles for distance. What distances are available at hotwells? I don't like going to Carters at all any more. It's way too crowded. |

Sounds like there are lots of us close. I am at Huffmester/Telge. I grew up at Grant and Jones. My wife and my first house was at Loetta and 249. I haven't been to Hotwells in years. Usually go to American off Westimer. That way I can get out to 300+ yards. A little history for ya'll that may not know. Hotwells used to have a hot spring, long dried up now. It used to be a plush resort. It was a rest stop for the wealthy traveling between Houston and Austin. It was about as far as they made it in a day. If you notice at the skeet range, the clays land in a pool. It is an olympic size pool. 30 years or so ago, we would go there and jump off their 10 meter platform. As far as meeting. Lets meet at the range. |
Dude, we just had one on I-45 between Richey and Airtex this Tuesday. I try to have one at least once a month....but, sadly it ends up being like once every two months..... On Sunday night after 10 pm just post "Hou-crew Tuesday meeting, NorthSide and a place" Choose something on I-45 or 290 and they're likely to show up. We used to go to Buffalo Wild Wings at 249 and Gessner but people didn't like the commute down 249 to Gessner. Welcome |
I know! My wife and I came to one last year, and I bought the Texas lower from you! I was referring to a true Tomball area meet, near 249 and 2920. I saw the one at Richey and 45 and was tempted, but still to far away in nightmare traffic! |
Which range do you shoot at? I shoot at Carter's (the one on Treschwig), I haven't found any others in my area besides Sportsman's Outlet and that's an indoor range and I never have asked if I could shoot my AR there. |
You can shoot the AR there. Plus they are not so uptight about rapid fire. |
I often shoot my AR or AK at Sportmans's Outlet. Good people there. |
) After today I will never say another bad word about Hotwells ever again (not that I said much before except the handgun area sux).
See my post above.
