Getting bored shooting by myself - well, just getting tired of moving barricades and targets by myself. HAHA! If anyone is interested in meeting me at The Bullet Hole for some shooting, drop me a note. I can do this most any time - I'm not working right now. The Bullet Hole has been very good to me, and we can use a bay for IDPA, Carbine, etc type shooting. I had some steel plates for shotgun, but they were 'permanently borrowed.' EDIT: I'm not one to stand on the firing line and shoot at a target - I'm good for about 5 minutes doing that. I gotta move. |

Hiya Zmeja! Can't make this weekend, but I'm going to the carbine match at the end of the month. I'm up for carpooling to the TT's site has 2 different dates though - the 29th and the 30th - I emailed him and didn't get a response - think I have his phone # here somewhere - I need to know what day it is. I'll IM my phone # to you. EDIT: I meant to say "3 Gun" |
Hi Sparsky, Would there be enough daylight left for you to get to the range after work and get a good session in? I had baseball practice twice this week, and there still was plenty of light at 1830. I'm going to shoot once next week - if you want to meet me one day after work, let me know and I'll just start a little before you get there. This weekend is a non-shoot for me. Next weekend is TT's 3 Gun shoot at Hayes - I'm going. That is if I can find out what day - his website lists 2 different dates. |
Well, how about Wed? That's my vote. Pistols and rifles. If I still had my steel plates shotgun also. I don't need the timer for myself, but would be happy to run it for anyone else. |
Sounds good to me. Don't know what happened to your plates. But I have a welder now if you need it to make some more. |
You mean Sundance (played by Redford) saying "I'm better when I move." |
My bad, I thought it was Butch Cassidy / Paul Newman, when they were in Bolivia trying out for the private security contractor positions to haul the gold up to pay the workers. |
|
I'll get there about 1545 or so. I really can't think of anything you'll need other than your normal shooting stuff. Mike from TT told us about the sweet deal he has at the Hayes Range. $65 for a one year membership, unlimited range use between the hours of (IIRC) 0900 and dusk and not during a Match. Use of all barricades, etc included. Man, that's great! Just wish it wasn't 66 miles from my house. EDIT: Just remembered - you may want to bring some gloves - some of the barricades are splinter-fields. |
|
Crap, I hope I have some gloves in my car. I've sent my check to Mike for the range membership there, but Hays County isn't somewhere I can get to right after work. It will be nice for the weekends and perhaps vacation days off. I need to take a day off. I'm working too hard.
|
Don't worry about gloves - if nothing else I have an extra pair. May not even be needed - I suggested it as I know some folks always wear gloves when moving stuff. Time isues: I'm trying to rationalize a membership with Mike. It's 66 miles from my house, during the summer I play baseball, and that takes up most of my time with practice and games, then I do have to work once in a while. $$ issues: Carpooling would save on gas. The Deal - Mike is offering one hell of a deal, he and Jennifer are good folks, and all the people I've shot with there are great. |

Had a nice time yesterday. I will bring my gloves next week since I accidentally touched the hot barrel of my commie gun. I'm going to write up a couple of drills we can do if you guys want to. Sparsky, I'll also bring some cash for that carbine if its still for sale. |
|
Yep, it was a good time. Drills sound good, Zmeja. It was kinda funny when I ran into that dummy round I loaded. By the time it showed up, I had completely forgoten about it. And I was quite happy when I ran a TRB before I even realized it...couldn't BANG though, as I had loaded that dummy as the last round in the mag, so the slide locked back after TR. If anyone else is interested, we're going on Tuesday next week - that's 8 Nov 2005. I'll get there at 1530 give or take. |
Sure no problem, I'll have to remember to bring everything for it. I wouldn't mind tring a few drills. Maybe I'll remember to bring the timer. lol. |
|
Yeah, I wouldn't mind another month of goofing off. I'll find out Tuesday what the work schedule is. If it's bad, I'll drag up. Actually, the work I'll be doing isn't bad at all - installing support equipment, gear, etc for the robotics. It'll be a bunch of 2-3 week jobs, then move to another area. Our Manpower guy hooked me up. |
| Zmeja and I were thinking about weekend shoots. Maybe it'll get some of the other san antonio shooters to show up. We also talked about a trip up to the Hay's range. The wife and I are usually good to shoot on the weekends from 8am till about 1pm. She goes to work after 1 usually. LMK what you think. |
