Can ya'll give me the heads up on surplus IMI, boxed IMI? I remember a while back that it was good stuff and want to know if it is the same as the Q3131A stuff. KY imports has some and need a feedback. Thanks. |

Ya, my ARs have always loved the 55 grain Q3131A ... Good stuff. Question anew, how do people feel about the 223 FEDERAL 55GR. FMJ AMERICAN EAGLE? I assume it is great stuff too, but is it better than Q3131A or equivalent? I shoot out of 16" M4, 20" heavy and 16" mid length ARs, so looking for an overall. |
It's crap. Don't buy it (so they'll be some left for me!) It's not better or equivalent to Q3131A. It's not loaded to the same pressure since it's .223 ammo, not 5.56mm. The boat tailed projectile, though, does well in my various uppers (1/7 20", 1/9 16" carbine, 1/9 16" midlength). I just hate that I can't get it easily here in town. I have to drive to Austin or mail order it. |

Thanks for the info- they have the black and white IMI box, so my new question is whether that is the Q3131A equivalent, or do they have a milder load than the brown box? Has anyone had the older bulk surplus stuff? For that price I am tempted but wish to know the rep on it. Thanks for the help and answers. |
