Most shows post signs that you CANNOT carry your concealed weapon loaded and it must be checked.

It seems like I went to a show a while back and the sign said all weapons must be checked EXCEPT CHL, but I may be mistaken.

But does that carry the sane legal weight as an official 30.06 sign ?

Any warning that is visible and NOT a 30-06 sign should be considered warning under 30-05.

About two years ago, you could carry at the SAXET show here in SA.  I called the parent company and also asked the guy at the ticket desk - both said it was OK.

I didn't go to the show for about a year, and asked the same guy as before at the ticket desk.

He said, "No."  When I asked him "what changed," he told me their insurance had changed.

Whatever.

Actally, a sign that is not an official 30.06 sign doesn't count for CHLers. If there is not the exact sign (most gun shows have them), it is not a criminal trespass issue if you have  CHL. That is the only written notification that has legal force for CHLers. If somebody who is has authority over the property TELLS you verbally to leave with gun, that is legally binding.

The hardest thing in my opinion is do you want the attention brought to you by standing up for your right to carry in a show?  Second, why do you want to carry in one?  I think it becomes a serious issue of picking your battles.

What changed is that some idiot shot himself in the thigh when trying out a holster or somesuch at the SAXET show here in Austin.  After that incident:  30.06 signs went up.

Thanks alot to that stupid cocksucker that didn't practice good gun safety.

No slam intended...you asked a question and I'll answer.

I want to carry everywhere.

I have the right to protect myself.

I have the responsibility for my own protection.

.Gov does not have the responsibility to protect me.

And that sums up my reasons nicely.
