Had a great time at the Tiger Valley shoot today, shot from 9:30am to 5pm and was still disappointed when it was time to head back to Dallas. John and TJ really went to work to make the place look good and the weather was perfect for shooting. Got to meet a lot of the Texas crew for the first time; my only complaint was there was so much shooting to do I didn't have much time to talk guns with them. Anyhow, good meeting many of you in person. If you can make the time Sunday, you should definitely head down there. |
Big +1 to that, the place looks great! From 10yds with a pistol all the way out to 600yds with the Garand, I had a blast no matter what the distance. Capturing video now, will have some posted later tonight. |

The place looks great! They have done a great job with all the new targets and road upgrades! John and TJ went out of their way to provide us a great time this weekend! Great food too! Those fries were awsome. I broke my charging handle on my 9mm from bumpfiring yesterday. I am actually proud of that. ![]() |

I'm working on compiling all the video from the shoot, but I pulled out this separately and thought you'd like to see it. It's a close-up of the steel from 300yds with HBruns shooting his 6.5mm at it. The time between the report and seeing it hit the steel is almost non-existent. Damn that's a fast round! www.petenelson.com/temp/video/HBruns_Target_Closeup.wmv |
Yeah, I did a week in the Caribbean with no sunburn at all in February and forgot sunscreen and burnt myself crispy Saturday. Got to work the rifle pits with Ilikelegs, TXLewis, FALARAK, and DVDTracker. Those plate racks are addicting - great fun. Also enjoyed shooting at the mover in the next bay. DVDTracker, you should have had some video of you plinking iron sights with the Garand at 500yds. I was having a hard time even seeing the target at that distance despite the 18" black bull. |

What a great weekend, I had a great time shooting the long line, my 1st. time to shoot at 500 & 600 yds. With john's help i was on paper and had some in the black too. Everybody was great to hang with, you can't ask for better hosts than T.J. & John, they made sure we had plenty to shoot at. I had as much fun talking to folks as i did shooting, 300+ in my ar's and 250 in my pistols, i cleaned guns for 3 straight hrs. sunday. After sat. nite i was a little fuzzy sun. A.M.THANKS EVERYONE! I cant wait until october comes around, if you dont go, you are cheating yourself. Later, Wayne B.

| Thanks to Tj "the Flash" and John "french fry" for a great weekend. It was great to spend time with "Little bitty" big thicket and "pretty boy" handsome rob. It was also wonderful to share an entire weekend with "the square bottle" family. "Lardass" was my friend and gave me deer steak again. The DFW crew proved once again that they can't figure out how to "Do" a weekend. I guess I just need to be a Central or south Texas member for a while.... |

It was a good shooting time. Weather was great, just some wind to deal with. It was my first time also to shoot past 100 yards. Sat. nite around the fire was fun, and at least I was smart enough to pass on the square bottle. I learned alot, mostly to bring more ammo. I shot close to 800 rounds of 223 and 9mm combined. Thanks again to John and T.J. for being good hosts and a great range. tvone |
Ditto. I just hope that Tiger Valley opens full time. It would be great. I only made it on Sunday but be able toget most of the things done. 1K range was fun FALARAK and I were the only one left, so John allowed and joined us to work on several different shooting scenarios. It was very cool. |
