They don't have any class 3 rentals now, "down for repair" or ???

They let you shoot rifles from a bench only down at the end of one of the lines, you may be able to bring your own, but, like I said, it'll probably be from a rest.

When I was growing up there (now live in San ANtonio) they allowed it at a range in mesquite, it was an outdoor one.  Anyone know even if that range is still there?

Thanks for the replies...

That's probably Gibson's Outpost, which is still there. There is a membership fee of $6 and then you can shoot all day for $10. Don't know if they allow full auto, but you can call them at (972) 222-8127 and find out.

The ATF had a problem with DFW Gun Range renting out a sub because it was not "teathered".  That is corrected now.  So you can rent a full auto, or shoot your own if you have the paperwork.

I instruct there so ask away if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the clarification, txinvestigator.  Have some questions:

.DFW gun range allows full auto, so I assume M16 is OK?  FMJ?
 .Do non-members allow?
.You charge by the hr? and how much?

 Thanks

Yes, full auto is fine,  Even M16,, AK, etc.  Just be sure you have your paperwork as they will check it.

DFW is a public range.  Memberships just get you a price break.  So yes, non-members can shhot.

They charge per shooter, $15.99 lane fee.  $5.00 additional for rifle calibers over .22  It is for an hour, but if people are not waiting for an open lane you can shoot all day.  There are 13 or 14 lanes, so that is seldom a problem, except for Saturdays.

Most of the staff is knowledgeable; there are a couple of new people who are still learning stuff.  And a couple of guys seem to have no personality, but they ARE nice guys.  I don't work the counter.
