Yeah, what a shocker. His buddies didn't even get the pleasure of killing the perp. Very sad.

Firing in the defense of a third person is an acceptable defense. His fellow oficers would probably buy the beer, grand jury would probably no-bill, the NRA would love you, Finestine and the soccer moms would want your head, the perps family would hit you with wrongful death lawsuits, and you could go to sleep every night with a warm fuzzy feeling, knowing that at you did the right thing and rid this world of another pimple on the ass of humanity.

And people wonder why someone would want to be legally armed?

I was less than 50 feet from this van at 23:00 the night before!!

This tragedy happened at the far North end of the parking lot, this van was parked up next to either the billboard pole or a light pole.  I always park far out from the store for several reasons, including fat boy needing to walk, and safety of my vehicle.

I remember thinking, I shouldn't park too close to that van for "no specific reason".  It looked like a 70's style conversion van, had the mural or graphics all on it and the ladder going up the back, and the NM plates.

NM plates always catch my eye since I bought my motorcycle there a few years ago and rode it home.

It was just a general feeling that made me keep my distance.  Thank God for the gut instinct.

Why, was I at wal-mart so late???  I was there to pick up a couple of hundred rounds of .45ACP and 9mm ammo.  So, I guess, if I had to, I could of.  But like all you, I'd rather not have.

Pray for Sgt. Hunter's family, I'm sure they'll be apreciative.  Also, pray for Ofc. Seix who was seriously wounded coming to his comrades aid.

Glad you made it home safe.

Oh I missed that; I thought it was self-inflicted. I could just tell the SWAT guys were praying he had a weapon in hand when they gassed him. Good.
