TIGER Valley will now be hosting Sub Gun matches on the Sunday after our Three Gun Matches. If you do not want to participate in the match, there will be a 25 yard bay, and the 200 yardline open for NFA shooting. If you are interested in attending, please let me know. Here are the details on the Sub Gun Match. Next Sub Gun/NFA Match Date: Feb 29 at 9:00 a.m. Location: TIGER VALLEY Shooting Facility South (L.T. Dillon) at Prairie Hill, Texas (15 miles east of Waco on HWY 84). Time: Firing will begin at 09:00 a.m. on Saturday. Squad assignments and match briefing begin at 8:30 a.m. Rules: T.I.G.E.R. Valley Sub Gun/NFA Match Rules Categories/Divisions Limited Category - All weapons must be fitted with standard "iron sights", scopes and other optics are not allowed. Open Category - Weapons may be fitted with optics, such as magnification scopes, "red-dots", etc. Law Enforcement Division - The above 2 categories apply within the LE Only division. Weapons All weapons must be chambered in pistol caliber. (You may choose to carry a pistol as backup) Sub Gun - Minimum caliber .380. All sub guns must be multi-round burst or full-auto selection, suppressors are allowed, all Federal statutes will apply. Pistol - Minimum caliber 9mm, Maximum caliber .50AE, no steel core ammunition, suppressors are allowed, all Federal statutes apply. Optics - Any optical device such as, scopes, "red-dots", or other magnification or vision enhancing devices mounted on any weapon will categorize a competitor within the "Open Category". Scoring Method Holsters Any concealed-style, or tactical-style holster is allowed. No shoulder rigs, (vertical shoulder rigs for the sub gun are allowed) vest-mounted, "small of back", fanny packs are not allowed. Handgun holsters must be attached to a belt or be securely attached to the body, and cover the trigger. For safety reasons, the removal of holsters during the match is discouraged. Weapon Malfunction Should your weapon have a mechanical malfunction, you must attempt to clear your weapon. You may transition to a secondary weapon and attempt to complete the course of fire. You must ensure that your primary weapon is discarded in a safe manner (safety applied, muzzle pointed in a safe direction, etc) or properly slung before moving. "Out of ammo" is NOT a mechanical malfunction. Allied Equipment Equipment, such as slings, holsters, or magazine pouches may not be removed at any time during a course of fire to provide better mobility for the competitor unless, instructed by a range officer or described in the stage briefing. Slings Tactical or single-web slings are allowed on shotguns and rifles. Slings may not be added or removed from a competitor's weapon once the course of fire has begun. Cold Range All weapons are to be unloaded prior to the commencement of the match. Loading/Unloading of weapons will be performed under the direction of a Range Officer. Match Disqualification Downed Weapon - Any weapon dropped on the range before, during or after a course of fire will result in a match DQ. 180 Degree - Any weapon pointed in a rearward direction during a course of fire will result in a match DQ. Sweeping/Covering - Any competitor's muzzle/barrel that points or covers any competitor's body or portion of body at any time during the match will receive a match DQ. Accidental/Negligent Discharge - Any bullet not directed at an intended target and impacting within 3 meters of the competitor, or any bullet that goes beyond the berm/designated impact area will result in a match DQ. Moving Forward of an Unsafe Weapon If a competator moves down range/forward of a previously discarded primary weapon and that weapon is determined to be in an unsafe condition, that competator will receive a match DQ. Unsportsman-like Conduct - Taunting/Heckling another competitor, intentionally altering/damaging another competitor's gear, arguing with a range officer will result in a match DQ. Discarding a functional primary weapon to gain an unfair competative advantage will result in a match DQ. Entry Fees: $35.00 Ammunition: Competitors must furnish their own ammunition. No tracers, incendiary, steel core or armor piercing ammunition will be allowed. Ammunition not meeting this requirement will be removed from the firing line. Additional ammunition may be required for last-minute stage additions or re-shoots. Targets: IDPA paper, reactive and static steel plates and pepper-poppers. Scoring: Combination of shot placement (points) and time. General: Competitors will be required to pull and tape/set targets and score. There will be no lunch break. Food and drinks are not available at the range. There are five RV hook-ups, showers, and restrooms available at the range. The fee is $15.00 per day. Safety: All Safety rules at T.I.G.E.R. VALLEY Shooting Facility will be obeyed at all times. Slides or actions should remain open unless engaged in a course of fire or under the direction of a range officer or a competitor is in a designated safe area. Competitors will not be allowed on the firing line until directed by a range officer. Competitors will not be allowed to load ammunition into a weapon unless directed by a range officer **THIS IS A COLD RANGE**. Handling weapons behind the firing line is prohibited. Weather/Terrain Conditions Please bring appropriate clothing for seasonal conditions. The match will continue rain or shine. You may also want to bring water, gatorade, snacks, lunch, etc. |
