Hey guys hoping you can help out a southern neighbor... I have family in the Barbour County area and currently have Verizon and am looking at switching to Sprint. We make it up there about once every month or 2 for weekend trips.

Verizon has finally gotten to where its got pretty decent coverage most of the way up. Sprint's map shows they have decent looking coverage, but I know that don't mean shit once you get up in the mountains and hollers

So what do we know about their coverage up there? Thanks!

I had to switch from Verizon cause once you cross the mountain. .....yah get no service. I changed to sprint and I have service most places but it will drop out and say no service available in some areas. AT&T gets pretty good service.....and post 556

It really depends on what part of Barbour county you'll be in.  I have Sprint, and for the most part up around Phillippi, Belington, Junior, and the towns, you'll be ok.  I can tell you this much, a cell phone works a hell of a lot better up there, than down here in Randolph county.  Pretty much once you leave Elkins, and surrounding area there is no service.

Sounds about like my Verizon experience. I ended up sticking with Verizon but thanks for the info.

To be honest with you it doesn't matter who you have for coverage, it generally sucks in WV.  More so in the mountains.

Depends on your route. Google NRQZ.

Over at my place in Upper Tract, ATT is the only thing that works. Go west over North Mountain or over towards Sugar Grove and you're pretty much in the NRQZ.   I don't really like ATT, but I have to go with what works in the area.
