Somebody has gotten ahold of mine before. I never would have known if it wasn't for checking my account online. Hope your CU has good customer service.
This is not nearly as bad as your situation. Some jack wagon stole Jesus from my nativity display while I was in Charleston for work the weekend before last. |

My CC was stolen back in November. Capital One called right away and asked if I was making purchases in Georgia. When I said "no", they immediately canceled the card and within 10 days I had a refund.
PSA: I NEVER use my debit card anywhere, and since that day I have gone back to mainly using cash. |

My CU credited my account within 30 minutes of signing the fraud papers, so that's awesome. The fucked up thing about this is it was all local. Couple purchases at two Bi-Los in Simpsonville, one at Bi-Lo in Mauldin, couple at two Bi-Los in Greenville. All for $199.95. Fortunately the CU shut my card down before the POS went over $1k. Fuck a thief. |

Fuck a thief. I've had mine stolen as well. One time my bank cought it and shut the card down the other I contested the charge and was credited the money back quickly. Contact your bank OP. They should make it rite |
| I had my debit card info stolen by steampowered.com i think it was . Bank called me they got me for 150-200$. Aparently its a video game arcade or online arcade based in seattle. People in gd actually talk about playing/buying games there. Never been to seattle and dont play video games either. |

I got a call and texts this morning from my credit card company. Apparently someone made some unauthorized charges on it. USAA called me before I even knew about it. I think they monitor for such things pretty well these days. I have had my information stolen a few times and so far, no cost to me. I do use a credit/debit card for nearly everything though. I rarely carry cash. But due to one of my experiences, I now have accounts set up at two separate banks. One is a primary for normal purchases and whatnot, the other is a backup for "just in case". Wells Fargo (maybe Wachovia at the time) next day mailed me a new card, but they wanted my signature. That can cause delays when you work a lot, hence the second account.
I also hate thieves and feel they should be shot on site. I certainly understand why they used to hang a horse thief. Too bad they still don't. |
