So this morning my oldest forgot her lunchbox. Mom called me while I was at the gym, so I finished my workout early, ran back home, grabbed the lunch box and headed to school. I enter the school through its "safety zone" (a small portal with a single office worker behind a 5x5 piece of glass ). The officer assigned to the school was sitting on a bench in the portal, he must be new, as he was not the same officer as last year and is a little young looking.
Anyway, while waiting on my daughter to come to the safety zone to come get her lunchbox, I ask the guy: "Is your current boss as NFA friendly as Sheriff Metz was?" He looked at me and then said: "What is NFA?" When I started to explain it, he said: "You're making machine guns?" I almost bladed at 45....... Another 10 minutes and I had educated him a little on the process, how it works, the costs of stuff, etc. My question is why arn't our LEO's more informed about how this process works???? |

*Most* police officers I have met in my life are not gun folks.
Since I am not a police officer, I can only speculate as to how much time is expended at the Academy on firearms laws, regulations, and whatnot. And I would assume it's not very much. Again, I'm assuming here, but if a police officer outside the BATFE wanted to know more about firearms laws and regulations, he / she would go about learning it the same way you and I go about learning it: Ask questions, find Schneecat, and Google the hell out of it. |

I remember showing a showing one of the cops I used to ride shotgun with a brand new KT P32. His only remark was that they should be illegal. His rationale? "Criminals can easily conceal them". ![]() ![]() ![]()
Officer Brilliant is now working for a pest control company.

they don't teach you federal laws at the police academy that you won't enforce...even "gun people" don't always know about nfa some just don't care...they hear 200$ tax stamp, extra paperwork, long wait...when they just want to go shooting That's kinda where I am on the whole thing. I know there's a shit ton of paper work, assinine fees, and the shit already costs more than my left nut is worth. I'll just spend that money on ammo. |

Justin Britt is running for Lexington Sheriff. He goes to my church. I'll have to ask him what his stance is on NFA items. Let's take him out on an NFA playdate. Help him to understand the benefits and separate the fake from the truth.
