I visited Innovative arms two days ago. Wanted to see if they could help me with this:

Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do other than refer me back to Huntertown Arms for a fix. Fortunately, though, this came today:

I might eventually get a suppressor for my 40 from them.

I am really ready for their QD models.  I have several rifles that will use a 7.62 and don't want to leave a crown on the ones that arn't suppressed.

I know that the second picture is a suppressor and what I assume is your approved ATF paperwork. I'll wait until tomorrow for you to explain what picture #1 is, because I sure as shit don't know.

I wish it was as simple as a baffle strike. The baffle actually just collapsed from the pressure of shooting through it. UGH! I still get pissed just thinking about how the thing is structured!

I'll bring the whole thing tomorrow nick, so you can see the damage. Try not to laugh at my pain.

I shot the Grunt this evening and was highly impressed. I understand what people mean about .223 not being hearing safe even suppressed. That sonic crack is a MUTHA! It is enough to make your ears ring, but not really hurt.

Pretty much all the sound of the blast is contained by the grunt; i also didnt get any noticeable flash after the sun was down. when i shot it without ear pro, my initial thought was, "that wasnt so bad, but i dont think i will keep doing it." I also get the hubbub about getting gas to the face; my shooting glasses kept getting fogged up from the gas coming out of the charging handle.

All in all, i feel I should have gone with the local dudes from the jump.  I will be investing in an Innovative Arms Apex22 in the near future.

I've got one and like it.  There are more modern designs out there but it's an easily cleanable can and it's really light which is what I was looking for at the time.  On my 22/45 Lite with subsonic ammo it sounds about like my airsoft Glock.

Another closet-sized gun shop with ammo and accessories purchased from other stores and marked up accordingly. My first visit was my last.

So I assume that this means you haven't heard back from HTA about your repair request?

I did, one day after i decided to just send it. With signature verification tracking. And insurance. And a letter explaining the problem.

I will explain more when i have it back in hand.

Update: i got the suppressor back from huntertown arms the other day. They basically just replaced the whole stack in the tube. The new baffles arent shiny like the previous ones were; i dont know what's up with that.

When HTA contacted me after i sent the thing off to them, they told me that the damage was due to me using a caliber the suppressor was not designed to handle. . I shot underpowered .223 through a 7.62 can, and that is what happened. Thank merciful Christ that i didnt shoot using the caliber it was designed to be used for! The whole damn thing would probably implode upon itself!

The new baffles are just as thin as the prior ones. Absolute junk.

They told me if i had another failure like this i would have to pay for the repair.  So basically, i cant use the damn thing unless I want to pay for new innards everytime i want to take it to the range.  You sell me a subpar product and wont honor your waranty when it goes tits-up? Yeah, lesson learned; i'm getting rid of this thing, i'll take the loss on it and will likely sell it for the cost of a new stamp and a bottle of champipple.
