| I can't believe how nice everyone was in South Carolina . People talked politely a bartender bought me a shot. If I can find a way to get your state I'll definitely go without hesitation lol and I like the fact y'all shut down for an inch of snow and temps below 40 degrees. How are the gun laws down there. |

I can walk into a gun store and (provided I have the $$$) say, "I want one of those, one of those, a couple of those, and that big, shiny one." I fill out 4473s, hand over the cash, and I'm out of there. They don't call in a background check on me, since my shall-issue CWP shows that I've already passed one. After the Katrina debacle in NOLA, the SC legislature passed a law prohibiting the state government from confiscating firearms from law-abiding citizens in times of emergency. And castle doctrine. No duty to retreat. How's that for a start?

JK, most southerners are polite and very friendly, come on back any time....  there's a certain shred of truth in what rustee said. I've lived South of the Mason-Dixon line for near a quarter-century and have yet to ever be fully accepted by certain portions of the population who immediately write me off because I don't have a twang. Like I care.
