I am located in the Greenville area and I'm looking for somewhere to take a carbine class.  Right now I'm looking at Allen Arms and Sharpshooters in Greenville.  I also looked at Palmetto State Defense by Palmetto State Armory in Columbia if it is worth the drive.  Anybody have any experience with any of these?  Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Dan

The Carbine classes hosted by Palmetto State Defense are through us at Pandion Tactical.  We are local to Greenville and host most of our classes in the area, as well as across the state.

If you have any questions for me directly please shoot me an email at [email protected].  You can also check out our website and facebook listed below.

To read a few reviews on us, search for us on TacticalClassFinder.com.

Good luck in your search for some classes, hopefully we can be of service to you.

I am hosting an NRA Basic Rifle course, as well.

We are tied to the NRA curriculum, which starts off basic.  However, the other instructor and I approach this from a service rifle sort of perspective so we will be spending a lot of time on position shooting.  Solid positions combined with good fundamentals are a good base to build on.  The course is an all-day 14 hour course, so while we do have to cover the NRA's classroom portion in the morning there will be a lot of time on the range.

NRA Basic Rifle is not intended to put a lot of pressure on the students (as it is aimed at new shooters), but depending on the class demographics we may move faster or slower with individual students.  If there are folks ready for some time pressure or more challenging targets then we'll do that in the strings of fire later in the day.

The fundamentals may not be tacticool, but there is something to be said about having the ability to drop into the prone or sitting/kneeling and put rounds into a 4 MOA target under time pressure on demand.
