Hate to say it but seems the world is getting stupider by the minute and people can't get much lazier or fat.. Makes me sick.. Not to go on a rant but one thing that brings me hope is when I see people getting out and doing something amazing... The way I see it is let's start a pic thread just dedicated to the families and crew on this form...If you kill a elk...if you nab a nice catfish.. Get a new lift on your truck...take the family out camping..post it up... Basically let's post up motivation to help inspire others to get out and remember what God made us for... We did a thread like this on a outdoor survival form and it was amazing...So I'll start it up...

First up three gun in May..awesome..can't figure out how to link the video so click the pic and watch on my photobucket... Enjoy

nothing fancy..took the family out and did some gold panning...made for a amazing Friday afternoon.. It rained cats and dogs but my girls loved every min..

Only dirt I played with yesterday was some pieces of I-80 asphalt.
Was dragging a load of Diesel from Cheyenne to Wamsutter,  and was up near the top of the summit between Laramie and Cheyenne, when Mother Nature decided to throw a fit. Had a car about 100yrds in front of me, and we were doing maybe 55 in the one lane construction zone, when a lightning bolt hit the road about 15yds in front of me. It was kind of weird, and like it happened in slomo, because I saw the bolt hit the road right near the left edge (side we were all on), saw the explosion of debris flying into the air,  and the smoke cloud, then the debris hitting the tractor. I tapped the brakes to slow down a bit before the rocks started pelting me, then pressed on to the summit and got out to check the truck and trailer over. When I got to Wamsutter and started delivery,  a driver who was behind me on the hill comes up and said, "dude, from where I was it looked to have hit you, and that was one freaking awesome sight to see"

So the only dirt I played with was a handful or so of pulverized asphalt that was up on top of my trailer trough. Looks like a bigger chunk may have hit the very rear of the trough,  because it looked like a fresh scratch and ding...nothing else would normally make it up there.

Forgot my Camara for camping this weekend so this is a shot of camping a few months ago.  As for the past two night rain and lightning  was the name if the game and cold..

That middle picture with the papoose is great!!  I like the hunter-killer dog in the third too.

What I like to do in the dirt is shoot.  That black dot in the middle of this pic is a paper target at 860 yds.  From the prone I shot a 10" group

of 3, not quite MOA but lots of fun.

That's the truth; my oldest is back down at Laramie again......he didn't have time to go up with us yet this year.  Hoping he will join us later in the summer.

I'd love to say I worked my ass off to own the cabin, but in reality, I married well....errr, my inlaws gifted it to us, as they couldn't afford the upkeep and taxes anymore.

Now I work my ass off every time I go up there.

here is a picture I just took on a backpacking trip into the absoroka-beartooth wilderness last week. tried to get up on the Beartooth Plateau- still too much snow. this was on the Wyoming side of the line.

anyway, this bear was at about 8500'. ninety yards. wind was in my face. as it was clearly a mature boar, I knew there were no cubs around. watched him for ten minutes, during which time he never lifted his head. he was doing what bears do this time of year, stuffing his face with greenery. I slipped away into the black timber and went around him without his noticing.

this is from back in early April. I spent some time last winter hunting mountain lions up behind my house on snowmobile and skis. So when I came upon this in a canyon above the San Juan it brought me up short. perfect track of Felis Concolor. in stone. the context was Fremont, so it could be three thousand years old. The guy who did this was a hunter.

We got in the dirt and the water the last 11 days in the mountains.   my 15yr old son and I had a blast.

We built this bridge below our cabin.    It will probably be gone after next springs run off, but we will just have fun building a bigger and taller one.   Every rock we pulled and stacked out of the creek.

Also got to play with my home made desert  Ghillie jacket up in the deep timber.    Had my son snap some shots of me.  It worked surprisingly well, given what it was designed for.   We had a good time.

Spent the weekend over the state line at the Idaho State Long Range, F-Class Championships. good turnout, four relays, with several of us from Wyoming.

800 yd line first morning

800 yd line second morning from 900 yds.

Palma shooter at 800 second morning

Target line from 800 through telephoto. this is roughly what I see through the spotting scope.

in the pits.

edit: edited pictures in photobucket to rotate them but they are still sideways. will work on that. no pictures from the 1000 yd matches, the three 1000 yd matches were all shot in the afternoon and the mirage was intense.

My dad and I got to harass the local rock chucks while we were at our cabin last week.    My dad played spotter.   I didn't exactly cover myself with glory..  The chucks were from 250-550m away.   I did better once I trusted my rifle and the ballistics app, and took more time looking at the crosswind.

Also noticed, off the bipod on the rocks I was getting some funky shots.    I wasn't loading the bipod, and it was bouncing pretty good on me.    Off the rolled up Ghillie, I was more accurate.

Anyway, it was a fun morning spent with my dad.   Couldn't have been better.

This was from about a month ago.  A buddy and I set up a blind at the bottom of one of my beet fields to try and nail some of the jack rabbits.  They really thin

out the beets in this stage.  We had green lights mounted on the guns and stayed till way after dark.  All we saw were some damn deer coming to eat my alfalfa.

Well had a amazing parent moment first thing this morning.. Loaded up my girls and first went to Wyoming tactical and picked up a Tavor for my youngest daughter to put away until they get older.. My oldest was telling the guys in the store that this gun was her sisters and that hers is at home.. It was awesome.. Then.. We ran to the lake for a day of training in the art of lake rock throwing and bolder climbing.. They had a blast.. All the way home they were asking me if we can go hiking tomorrow and I have the day off so I will have more pics tomorrow haha.. Enjoy..

First up my youngest throwing some rocks..

Second my oldest with the biggest lob ever she was getting some distance and loved bombing the minnows when they swam by

And last is my NATO aug.. Just hanging out...
A lady and her husband came down the trail and I was walking my girls with both holding my hands and my Aug on my back.. When we passed them I herd he lady ask her husband.. Does everyone carry guns in this state..and he said.. Its Wyoming sweety just keep walking... Made me smile... I love this state..

I had an awesome experience.

I should have taken it for a spin, but I never made time.   .  Hopefully it will still be up there in a couple weeks for me to drive it once before it's gone.   It may not seem like much of a feat, but they are full of water, and the grade in some areas is 18%. .  It's a little challenging.

Went out bowhunting in the forest behind my land. Here's a couple of pictures from about 8AM. We had rain the previous afternoon and perfect fog conditions.

Town of Jackson is under the fog in the center right:

Looking north from the ridge above my house. You can see that a hot air balloon has popped up above the fog
