Just want to make sure all of you haven't frozen to death.

Still here.  The -22 this morning was a bit nippy though.  The critters seem to be ok, so that is good :D

Watched the temp in Billings and was having a good laugh.

Betcha all the newbies were freezing.
Also been giving the relative a jab about it being warmer up here in AK.
Stay warm down there.
Oh yeah it's 35F.

It's brisk out there.  Not going to lie.  Brisk.  Real brisk.

It's only -9 here. Went out to the truck to install my new floor mats and I about froze my balls off. It felt way colder than -9.

I went for a 3 mile run at 0500 in shorts and a tank top. Was kinda cool but not that bad.

I'm alive.  -15F here right now.  Was -10F when I woke up.  Got up to 0 today I believe.

Both vehicles got wrecked by the cold.  The 87' 4Runner just plain wont start and the 94' Jeep Grand Cherokee had to get a new battery for $125.00 yesterday followed by the realization that it needed a new alternator.  So that was $385.00 to fix today

Overall, this sucks and I cannot wait for warmer weather.  Insulated coveralls are the best thing EVER and the refrigerated environment I work in is extra frigid .

Stay warm out there folks.  The therm this morning reads -32 here on the eastern slope of Rogers Pass.  Since I just flat out forgot, I am pretty sure the fuel in my truck is gelled (forgot to add the kerosene).  Luckily I don't need it right now.  We sure are running through that expensive propane though, and burning lots of wood.

-22 this morning in Helena.  I still have running water, but I think the drain pipe froze as my shower doesn't seem to be draining. I have doubts that my truck will start when I eventually go outside. This is too much.

16 below right now in Kalispell with about a 10 MPH wind.  A bit brisk, but it's winter in the Rockies.

After you get as much water out of there as you can, put some crystal (not liquid) drain-o in the drain. The chemical reaction heat it generates will melt just about any ice accumulation FYI

My car mostly worked today, steering was sluggish and left blinker didn't work, I have an extra heater in the laundry room so stuff doesn't freeze and the inside of all my windows are iced over. I could do with a bit warmer, teens and twenties are pretty nice.

My little corolla didn't start this morning. I pulled the battery and it was low on water and needed a good charge. I load tested it this evening and it passed so hopefully it will work tomorrow morning.

Wife's Expedition has a really neat trick.  2:30 this morning the horn just started blaring.  Apparently it's done this every evening when the temp dips below about minus 15 degrees.   Difference this morning is,  it woke me up too.

Tonight was barbecued elk/bacon mixed burgers, topped with cheese and bacon with some pasta stuff with bacon in it for a side.  Yup, minus 13 and on the BBQ. That's what I'll do... For the love of bacon!

About ten years ago I had a neighbor's car that did this.

I didn't like that neighbor very much.

EDIT:  It was a Ford, too...

Lots of odd stuff has been happening these last few days.  Our generator decided to dump all it's oil out what looks to be the rear seal.  Not really good timing at all.  We have a backup, so running that now.  It is just a manual process instead of automatic. The nice thing is gasoline is now cheaper than propane, so I am saving money

bleeding oil doesnt sound like fun. every time i start my poor little 4runner when it's real cold (thanks for starting this morning!) i take a walk around it and look for streams of oil.
our first cold snap this winter there were puddles of oil everywhere from all the new college kid's city cars suddenly being confronted with winter at 8am...

but missoula is in a heat was this afternoon. +17 in my front yard and there's this really bright thing in the sky, like a big star. and blue. such a rare color to see here in missoula's winter skies...
