I moved to the walker area. I am looking for land to shoot on, not hunt though that could be a plus. I want to shoot pistol skeet and rifle ar15 in .223. I would like to shoot to at least 100+. I would be willing to negotiate a lease but mostly I don't want to be a burden.

The sheriff's have an awesome range that isn't for tax payers.

Drop me a line!

Having a good place to shoot in South LA sucks all together if you don't own your own property out of city limits to shoot on. The Sheriffs ranges aren't very nice places to shoot if I'm being blunt. You can't get any real training in. No rapid fire, no moving and shooting drills, no shooting from any position at all other than standing, etc. Just not good/fun places to shoot.

Every time we think we've found some good state property or something to shoot on, the Sheriff comes and shuts us down. Seems the only option is to lease property out of city limits and that's about the point that I'm personally at. If I have to pay out the *** to be able to shoot when/how I want in peace, I will.

A coworker got a hunting lease in that area from a timber company.  I think it was fairly reasonably priced.  He had a huge problem with methbillies coming onto the property (stole his deer feeder), but if you're just out there to shoot, I'm sure they won't bother you.  If you want, I'll see if he has the website that he used to find timber leases in the area.

South of NOLA go to Eymard Shooting Academy in Cutoff. (800 yards)

North of NOLA there is the state run Honey Island, but I recommend MCTA in Picayune MS. (200 yards)
